Change Event writers serve as the pool of technical writer resources available to support large work requests such as projects or onboarding new clients to the CTO P&P library.  Change Event writers manage SOP documentation projects from initiation to completion, analyzing the request and the scope of work, developing comprehensive content recommendations, time lines, and strategic planning documents; upon client commitment, the writer will work individually or as part of a writing team to  document and publish standard operating procedures for Operations employees. We expect all Change Event writers to be flexible and competent in a fast-paced, deadline-driven corporate environment.

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and execute a documentation project from initiation through delivery:
    • Analyze the request, create a content outline, work estimate and documentation strategy
    • Create procedures from multiple resources, including but not limited to, documentation provided by the lines of business, process mapping, SME interviews and job shadowing, and other types of material
    • Partner with Subject Matter Experts to ensure that procedures accurately reflect corporate policy and the current processes established within each department
    • 85% original writing/15% revisions

    • Provide consulting and manage relationships with a variety of internal clients and partners

    • Analyze work requests and develop strategic plans to execute on those requests

    • Resolve and/or escalate issues with clients, work load, or processes.
    • Maintain on-line repository, posting new/updated procedures as needed
    • Maintain continuous communications with the Ops Docs manager to ensure consistent messaging and advance warning of arising issues
    • Maintain monthly regular reporting of various information including:
      • Productivity
      • Controls evidence
      • Progress against the project timeline
    • Routine administration including status reports, training and education, routine department and 1:1 meetings
    • Special assignment and projects

      Key Position Requirements

      Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but experience may suffice (technical writing, communications, education or business)

      Minimum Experience

      At least 3 years experience in technical writing, specializing in standard operating procedures. 

      A minimum of 3 years experiences with the entire documentation development life cycle.

      Project management experience preferred, but not required.
