Business Systems Analyst (Java)

Job Description

The CCB Digital Account Originations team, is chartered with managing and directing the technology capabilities driving customer & partner facing account origination experiences across web, mobile and API channels. This team is at the forefront of the on-going digital transformation to the cloud, leveraging modern software engineering and DevOps practices for accelerating functional delivery. We are seeking a business technical analyst to be a member of a dynamic scrum team within this organization.

 

Business Technical Analyst responsibility:  

 

  • Work in an energetic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment and deliver on multiple project streams simultaneously.
  • Interface with Product Owners and Business users as necessary for defining requirements and streamlining design.
  • Participate in meetings ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones, follow proper escalation paths and manage relationships with multiple collaborators across organizations.
  • Able to work well independently and collaboratively with others in delivering results.
  • Modify and enhance existing system to incorporate new functionality and to optimize them for performance.
  • Facilitate solution design within the scrum team ensuring input from appropriate collaborators
  • Facilitate communication across project stakeholders and technology teams.
  • Drive analysis of existing business processes within the digital account origination domain and identify gaps/optimization opportunities.
  • Perform impact analysis on any addition/modification/deletion of functionality to systems managed by the team.
  • Drive grooming of user stories & acceptance criteria within the backlog to a level where developers can implement and test the story independently.
  • Assist in backlog management and share responsibilities for managing scrum ceremonies.
  • The requirements should be detailed enough that the developers can deliver within a target 1 week ETA.
  • Partner with Application Development Managers (ADMs), developer lead and developers to ensure the committed work is feasible and understood.
  • Manage documentation around the software created and changed by the team.
  • Responsible for recording analysis artifacts and communications into JIRA.
  • Understanding of software development processes and procedures
  • Familiarity & comfort with Agile practices and tools with ability to drive continuous improvements within the team.

Qualifications: 

  

  • 5-6+ years experience in Information Technology; preferably in the Business Systems Analyst, Technical Analyst, Software Development or related disciplines with an emphasis on delivering cutting edge technology within Fortune 500 scale enterprises.
  • Bachelor’s Degree within a technical field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to forge lasting relationships with the scrum team(s) you are part of.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience of working with Agile Development teams.
  • Ability to read Java code and service definitions in order to understand existing system behavior. Java Developer experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SOAP, XML, JSON and other similar web service protocols/technologies.
  • Familiarity with  micro-services and cloud development practices is a plus.
