Global Security – Technical Security – Access Control Production Operations Manager

Global Security (GS) protects the firm's employees and assets throughout the world. This responsibility includes the development of security and safety policies and procedures, regulatory and legislative compliance, security operations on a global basis to include ATM, branch and corporate building security and customer safety, executive protection, pre-employment screening, fraud investigations and technical security.  This mission is executed through the implementation of technology, best-in-class talent, and client collaboration.

The GS Technical Security team consists of a dynamic group of security professionals who support and enable the physical security of our retail and corporate environments through access control, intrusion detection, alarm monitoring, and video surveillance technologies. They are responsible for the overall design, installation, configuration, maintenance, and administration of integrated security systems that protect the firm across the logical & physical threat spectrum.  Technical security professionals work closely with key stakeholders across Global Security, Global Real Estate, Chase, and multiple groups across our Global Technology organization. 


As the Access Control Operations Manager you will play a key role in leading the day-to-day operations of physical access control at JPMorgan Chase and will report directly to the Global Product Owner for Access Control. The role will manage a team performing a broad set of tasks including security system configuration, support of field testing security devices, badge printing and distribution, and customer service support. You will be involved in design and testing of custom system enhancements. The team uses an Agile methodology of software development to include a continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) model of features and functionality.

JPMorgan Chase maintains one of the largest access control systems in the world and endeavors to remain on the leading edge of security technology. These systems manage the physical ingress and egress for all JPMC employees and contractors across corporate sites and critical facilities, such as data centers. In the midst of a multi-year transformation, JPMC is currently upgrading all components of the access control environment. Initiatives include new platforms for Physical Identity Access Management (PIAM), Key & Asset Management, Visitor Management, and adoption of a mobile badge.


The role will cover a broad set of tasks:

  • Act as a hands-on manager, both performing tasks and delegating as necessary

  • Manage intake and distribute workload amongst staff

  • Proactively escalate issues, when necessary

  • Ensure business processes are performed thoroughly and consistently

  • Act as a Thought Leader to drive problem solving and identify business solutions

  • Participate in design sessions for software enhancements, provide input based on your day-to-day experience

  • Perform testing (UAT) of new software enhancements to ensure operational needs are met

  • Responsible for configuration of access control system, including panels, card readers, alarms and restricted access levels

  • Responsible for establishing and testing network connectivity between application and field devices

  • Print access control badges, pack for distribution by mail, manage onsite distribution

  • Triage issues raised in the field and manage technical service calls with vendors

  • Answer inquires from cardholders via email and phone and rectify issues


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with 5+ years relevant experience or Master’s degree and 3+ years of relevant experience
  • At least 3 years of managerial experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • MS Office skills
  • Client relationship
  • High degree of comfort in fast-paced dynamic / ambiguous environment
  • Knowledge of Access Control systems to include Physical Identity Access Management (PIAM), Physical Access Control Systems (PACS), Visitor Management Systems (VMS), Access Control Devices & Equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of IT systems and configuration preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience in Agile and scrum software development methodologies a plus
