Building out our Innovation Economy efforts to better serve these companies is a key priority for MMBSI in 2020 and our Innovation Economy strategy is a comprehensive solution set that includes: (i) connectivity to VCs and capital raising alternatives, (ii) thoughtful lending to early stage, pre-profit companies across Tech, Life Sciences, and Emerging Growth, (iii) innovative bundled TS products that enables these clients to pay, get paid and stay safe and (iv) disciplined marketing campaign executed through multiple channels that provides thought leadership content, industry leading events and positions JPMC as the leading money center for these sector.

In support of refining and implementing this strategy, we are looking for a Business Mgmt. Vice President candidate who will report to the MMBSI Strategic Initiatives leader and be a core partner supporting all aspects of Venture Capital Relationship team. The successful candidate is outcome-focused and has a leadership style that fosters teamwork and 10X thinking. He or she will work across the business extensively and must demonstrate the ability to navigate a matrixed environment. The ideal candidate understands and is curious about the innovation economy landscape, is familiar with the opportunities and challenges of starting up and maintaining parallel cross-functional work-streams, understands finance business models, and possesses strong interpersonal skills, and outstanding analytical skills to support the refinement and implementation of the strategy as laid out above.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Execute on management priorities for the Venture Capital space, including new product development, expansion strategy, and business development
  • Provide strategic execution support to the Venture Capital Relationship Team (VCRT) who are responsible for orchestrating JPM’s world-class experience for the venture investor community who invest in high impact private technology and life science companies
  • Engage closely with the Specialized Industries Business Management team, the Innovation Economy coverage team and cross-functional stakeholders to define the base stack of prospect opportunities, and design + implement data driven approaches for discovering net new opportunities, leveraging 3rd party and internal data sources.
  • Integrate data analytics and competitive and market analysis to drive prioritization and progress of the prospecting mapping and coverage exercises, including connectivity to banker and TMO hiring needs.
  • Partner with the CB TS Product organization to drive progress on the inclusion of Card and Merchant solutions on top of the Accelerator Bundle, including capabilities to monitor usage and client behavior. Also partner with the CB TS Product and DP&A teams to ensure the appropriate liquidity alternatives are brought to marketplace.
  • Partner with sales delivery partners – underwriting, TS sales, Service – to design/streamline sales process for the IE clients.
  • Partner with the MMBSI marketing organization, and external advertising agencies, to drive strategy of our brand in the market, what sets us apart via full suite of channels (PR, Social, Events etc.).
  • Manage cross-impacted initiatives and stakeholder communications to ensure business needs are met. Set and manage expectations through effective written and oral communications.
  • For all the above mentioned elements of the IE strategy, partner with the F&BM teams as appropriate to track, analyze, understand and communicate KPIs, and other strategy health indicators to management team.


  • 5+ years in financial services.
  • Ability to think strategically and to connect the dots to the bigger picture, while still comfortable diving into the details required to ensure successful execution.
  • Outstanding ability to analyze problems, apply quantitative analytical approaches, communicate effectively and confidently and to work well in cross-functional teams by developing strong, positive relationships.
  • Ability to interpret and present complex data in an easy to comprehend manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively; develop strong partnership with multiple levels of employees.
  • Strong PowerPoint (PitchPro+), Excel and VBA skills required.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and produce successful results in a fast paced environment.
  • Mature, independent, highly organized, self-motivated and a team player.
