The Chase Data & Analytics Team unifies data and analytics talent across Chase to responsibly leverage data to build competitive advantages for our businesses with value and protection for customers.  The team encompasses a variety of Data & Analytics disciplines, from data governance and data strategy/partnerships to reporting, data science and machine learning, and are actively engaged in ensuring impact at the front-line and the customer through Sales and Marketing transformation.  We have a strong partnership with our dedicated Technology partners, who provide us with our cutting edge data and analytics infrastructure.  Reference Data Strategy:

The Chase Reference Data Strategy team ensures Chase has robust processes to source, manage and distribute the critical reference data used through key business functions to drive business value, deliver great customer experiences and satisfy regulatory and legal requirements.

The ideal candidate will support key business functions through the management of efficient processes to govern critical business reference data. This position plays an important role in the firm’s agenda to control its data risk while simultaneously providing the business the ability to utilize data in an agile manner to meet business objectives.

Success in this role will require deliberate attention to detail coupled with strong collaboration skills across Chase Data Management, Firmwide data management, Chase sub-lines of business, and the Technology and Controls organization. 

This role requires data management knowledge as well as risk and controls experience in a hands-on manner delivering data for critical business initiatives and regulatory mandates as they relate to data.

The person will need to develop an understanding of key business / Firmwide initiatives and processes and to support the integration of data management activities accordingly.

This individual will be accountable for making sure Reference Data at Chase is managed in a well-defined manner aligned to business needs.  This includes making Reference Data administration workflow processes run efficiently and ensuring Reference Data tools are deployed to meet business expectations.  Additionally this individual will be expected to coach and develop Reference Data analysts.

Additional responsibilities for this role include:

  • Tracking team performance and validating process adherence

  • Coordinate with key stakeholders including product/platform owners, subject matter experts as well as IT support teams

  • Collaborate with other data management functions to deliver end-to-end data management for the firm

  • Identify and document Reference Data best practices, driving adoption

  • Document Reference Data process workflows and controls; documenting roles & responsibilities, procedures & job aides

Minimum Requirements

  • Masters or PhD in a quantitative or related field, or Bachelors with 6+ years' experience in a related discipline

  • Experience with Operations Controls, Technology Controls, Risk, or Audit

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of basic query writing and execution using SQL or other data analysis tools

  • Operational business knowledge of processes, data, controls and technology platforms

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills

  • Advanced problem solving and analytics skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio and SharePoint 

Preferred Experience/Knowledge

  • Experience managing, sourcing or distributing reference data and the tools used to support those processes

  • Experience in project management, including developing/maintaining project plans, risks, actions, issues, dependencies

  • Knowledge of JPMC data-related policies and standards

  • Knowledge of JPMC Business and Technology Data Controls, Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA),  Control and Operational Risk Evaluation and IT Risk Central (ITRC) a plus
