Strategic Analysis

Job Description

Duties: Provide end-to-end analytics throughout the payments lifecycle – collaborating across business functions to identify and remediate key financial, credit, fraud, and reputational risks. Ensure controlled growth, working with the Firm’s Risk Appetite thresholds. Develop policies to manage credit and fraud risk. Guide fundamental changes to the risk management processes working with people, processes, and technology. Continuously enhance the risk based review process, introducing risk based triggers to monitor risk exposure.  Monitor the performance of existing credit risk and fraud risk mitigation strategies and develop new strategies by analyzing large client data using strong analytical skills; an understanding of internal systems capabilities and constraints; client databases; and the payment lifecycle to identify and remediate key financial, credit, fraud, and reputational risks to maintain stress resilient growth strategy. Conduct complex analysis to enhance credit risk and fraud risk mitigation strategies including data collection, analysis, summarization and presentation of results to propose solutions for speed-to-market delivery of critical risk initiatives by effective use of existing data marts, full understanding of system capabilities, and adherence to established regulatory framework in alignment with risk management policies. Work with cross-functional areas including IT, Operations, and Credit Risk and Fraud Risk Groups to ensure successful implementation of new strategies using the firm’s proprietary production and User Acceptance Testing data sources.

Minimum education and experience required: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or related field of study plus two (2) years of experience in the position offered or two (2) years of experience as a Credit Risk Associate/Analyst, or a related occupation.


Skills Required: This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following skills: end-to-end strategy development; track record of error-free strategy implementation and execution; ongoing portfolio performance monitoring; recalibration of strategies in dynamic macroeconomic and competitive environment; MS Office Tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; monitoring and communicating trends in performance of strategies with senior leadership; analyzing large quantity of client data, including processing over 50 million records in Oracle and Teradata databases using SAS and SQL; analyzing risks for large financial institutions; business P&L and drivers for large financial institutions; and Risk Appetite Framework.
