CCB Risk

Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves consumers and small businesses with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, small business banking and lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance and investment advice. Consumer & Community Banking Risk Management partners with each CCB sub-line of business to identify, assess, prioritize and remediate risk. Types of risk that occur in consumer businesses include fraud, reputation, operational, credit, market and regulatory, among others

As a member of the Chase Home Lending Servicing Risk team, the senior risk analyst will be responsible for support and oversight of default decisions models within the home lending organization, as well as providing analytical support in the design, testing, and implementation of various retention and liquidation offers to borrowers who are in different stages of the delinquency cycle.  We are looking for a candidate with strong data acquisition and analytics skills, coupled with a foundation in consumer lending risk.

The candidate must possess good communication skills, as he/she will be expected to present analytical findings and provide recommendations to senior management, as well as interact on a regular basis with partner teams, including Credit Risk, Default Operations, Model Governance, Controls and Compliance, Technologies, and Finance.

  • Produce and review Economic Input Assumptions used in the default decision models
  • Provide direct support in the validation and reconciliation of NPV economic logic and the model inputs used across different default decision models
  • Perform various portfolio analyses aimed at tracking actual performance and assessing the adequacy of existing mortgage default decision models
  • Interact with the Model Governance team to ensure model review and ongoing performance assessment requirements for existing models are met on a timely basis
  • Conduct segmentation of the mortgage portfolio to understand key drivers of success for refinement of liquidation programs implemented at the back-end of the business
  • Provide ad hoc analytical support to Servicing Risk peers and business partners

  • Degree in Economics, Statistics, Operational Research or other quantitative field (graduate degree a plus)
  • 4+ years of experience in consumer lending risk or comparable quantitative areas
  • Ability to extract, manipulate, and process large data sets from multiple data source environments using SQL, SAS, and/or Python.
  • High proficiency in Excel with the ability to write VBA macros
  • Prior experience with Decision Tree software such as Knowledge Seeker a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high quality analytics and concise presentation of resulting work product.  
  • Ability to self-organize work streams and projects with relatively little direction and to manage multiple projects at the same time 
  • Ability to clearly communicate analysis results through standalone PowerPoint decks and the accompanying presentation to Sr. Management and business partners
