The Legal Department of JPMorgan Chase & Co provides legal services and advice to the Firm globally. Legal is responsible for, among other things:

  • managing actual and potential litigation and enforcement matters, including internal reviews and investigations related to such matters
  • advising on products and services, including contract negotiation and documentation
  • advising on offering and marketing documents and new business initiatives
  • managing dispute resolution
  • interpreting existing laws, rules and regulations, and advising on changes thereto
  • advising on advocacy in connection with contemplated and proposed laws, rules and regulations, and
  • providing legal advice to the Board of Directors, the business and functions. Legal selects, engages and manages outside counsel for the Firm on all matters in which outside counsel is engaged.

Position Summary

Office of the Secretary –is seeking a high performing Associate to support Global Subsidiary Governance Solutions team (GSGS) Legal organization management team on a variety of administrative tasks and key projects.  The GSGS Associate will have multiple responsibilities; including diverse administrative functions, creating team communications, spearheading projects and  leading initiatives from conception to completion.  The role will require confidentiality, initiative and sound judgment. 

 

The successful candidate will possess structure, organization, attention to detail, quality focus, high energy and flexibility to a high-paced deadline driven organization. This individual will need to work well in a team environment be able to represent the manager/group with professional courtesy and acumen, deliver flawless work output and help be a champion of JPMorgan Chase & Co. culture, values, and business practices.

 

This position is based in New York, NY.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain complex and detailed calendars
  • Responsible for the coordination, logistics and agendas of both internal (e.g., staff meetings, offsites) and external meetings
  • Arrange and coordinate complicated domestic and international travel
  • Organize all aspects  for offsite conferences and external events; including catering and transportation
  • Expense Management – Processing invoices and T&E expense claims for team members. Ensure all policies are followed and items are processed within provided guidelines. Subject matter experts for policies and procedures
  • Assist with staff onboarding and off boarding which includes requesting equipment setup and system and floor access
  • Produce high quality emails and key messages for the team
  • Maintain current organizational charts and Executive Bio’s for the Operations Head, maintain team distribution lists and GSGS Symphony chat
  • Handle regular activities without prompting, and advise in advance with issues or delays
  • Create presentation materials including materials for ALL HANDS Meetings and other monthly forums.  Gather content and assist in writing articles for the GSGS Newsfeed
  • Work cooperatively with administrative assistants team, in positive partnership to back up each other smoothly
  • Lead and coordinate in adhoc projects as assigned by senior management team including presentations, ad-hoc analysis
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Strong PC skills (proficient knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Advanced ability to organize
  • Tact and good judgment in confidential situations and proven experience interacting with senior management
  • Thoughtful analytical skills; able to develop, clearly present and draw conclusions
  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships with colleagues, desire to learn quickly, and be flexible
  • Two-three years of experience ideally supporting at the Managing Director level (or equivalent) or above
  • College degree is a plus
  • All candidates for roles in the Legal department must successfully complete a conflicts of interest clearance review prior to commencement of employment.
