Summary:Originate mortgage loans by establishing successful relationships with credit union members, and third parties such as realtors and builders. Work effectively as liaison with OMNIs CUSO, Member First Mortgage. Effectively sell mortgage products and credit union products and services on a consistent basis in a professional and courteous manner consistent with OMNIs service expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Regular attendance is an essential function of the job as well as reporting to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Interview mortgage applicants and obtain pertinent loan information.
  • Consult with and advise members about the variety of mortgage options available.
  • Assist members in applying for the most appropriate product for their mortgage need. Council applicants who do qualify.
  • Conduct face to face meetings, emails, phone calls within and outside normal business hours.
  • Successfully organize, prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Manage pipeline with efficiency and follow through.
  • Gather the proper documentation necessary to complete a mortgage application by working with loan processors, underwriters and applicants.
  • Coordinate closings at a location convenient to the borrower.
  • Effective communication both verbally and in writing with the appropriate staff of Member First Mortgage.
  • Know all aspects of OMNIs loan and deposit products.
  • Train team members on MFM products and services and develop strategy for team on how to generate leads.
  • Establish contact with realtors and contractors to develop mortgage sales leads.
  • Meet and/or exceed established mortgage loan goals.
  • Effectively respond to cold calls, leads, and referrals while exceeding service standards.
  • Travel to all branch locations and offsite business locations as required.
  • Effectively utilize programs and technology to conduct secure, efficient and convenient mortgage business.
  • Follow mortgage regulation and compliance best practices.
  • Completes annual training of all required compliance regulations, including the BSA, and adheres to the regulations.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with supervisor, informing him/her of all pertinent problems, irregularities, new development, changes and other important information within area of responsibility.
  • Answer all telephone calls in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude with all people, including fellow team members, members, management staff, board members and outside vendors.
  • Keep open communications and build trust with team members and members.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Prepare and maintain necessary reporting.
  • Follow safety and security rules and regulations.
  • Protect and respect credit union equipment and supplies.
  • Physical presence on site is required.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

Bachelors degree preferred. Knowledge of FHA applications and other government guaranteed products a plus.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>LANGUAGE SKILLS:</strong></p> <p>Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, regulatory agencies, benefit providers, and others.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:</strong></p> <p>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>REASONING ABILITY:</strong></p> <p>Continuous use of judgment, reasoning, patience and negotiation. Frequent use of initiative, ingenuity and creativity.
