Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

The Merchant Services Solutions Consultant Sr. will be primarily responsible for engaging and partnering with key stakeholders across Business Banking and Consumer Banking to provide payment processing and business solutions to JPMC clients. The individual will prioritize and proactively lead opportunities to strengthen banker knowledge and deepen overall client relationships.

The candidate will align geographically within the Business Banking divisional structure, supporting multiple markets within a division. The candidate will work collaboratively with the broader Business Banking Cash Management team, Business & Consumer Banking Market leaders and Merchant Services Sales Hub leaders to accomplish business goals and objectives. This individual will leverage expert cross-functional business knowledge, financial acumen, strong internal relationships, and exceptional leadership skills to make impactful decisions, and drive effective collaboration between internal bank partners and Merchant Services.  As a MS Solutions Consultant Sr. the candidate will be an expert in all aspects of payments; internal solutions based offerings and industry trends, including competitor analysis.  The candidate will implement strategies and tactics to improve performance and efficiency within the specified territory.  Payments expertise will be conveyed in the form of evolving product solutions, industry knowledge, in-market learning & development sessions, assistance with identifying qualified opportunities, as a liaison for escalated client issues and when required, joint banker client meetings.

  • Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders to achieve business goals & objectives collaboratively within Merchant Services and Business & Consumer Banking to increase payment processing opportunities.
  • Manage a specified territory within the assigned Business Banking Division, and be a "Trusted Advisor" in the eye of the clients and partners with whom you engage.
  • Lead an effective and collaborative communication culture between Merchant Services and Business Banking. This includes ensuring alignment of business partner sales coverage models, on-going integration across key business processes (Sales, Service, and Implementation) as strategic changes occur, and participation in strategic client targeting.
  • Establish regular cadence with Business & Consumer Banking and Merchant Services stakeholders to monitor progress, ensure coordination and collaboration among teams, and identify/resolve potential issues.
  • Provide significant and meaningful input to bank training and solutions support partners to shape the Merchant Services messaging around our evolving core products and services.
  • Ability to provide a face to banking partners and develop relationships through internal speaking engagements, panel discussions, events and banker development/informational sessions.
  • Be an expert in all aspects of payments; remaining current with an evolving palette of internal solutions based offerings, partner solutions and understand industry wide trends, including competitor analysis and offerings.  Have the ability to convey this detail in a simple, concise and meaningful manner with bank partners.
  • Provides product related assistance to Business Relationship Managers in pursuit of new clients and/or in support of expansion opportunities with existing clients.
  • Works closely with the WePay team to best understand the integrated partnership programs we offer; recognizing the features & benefits of each, transferring this knowledge when working with banking partners and clients.
  • Monitor and achieve KPIs and metrics to drive banker knowledge and customer penetration.
  • Accountable to influence aligned hub sales team to achieve new business goals

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. 7+ years’ experience in Business with a documented track record of proven success in financial services. 
  • Strong knowledge of Chase Business & Consumer Banking, preferred.  Payments industry experience, preferred. 
  • Exceptional relationship management skills. 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical, financial and decision making skills.
  • Deep understanding of the Control environment requirements across the Firm. 
  • Demonstrated experience operating in a matrix organization and leading through ambiguity. 
  • A track record of creating an environment of support and collaboration within/across teams. 
  • Strong organizational and planning skills. 
  • Ability to travel 25%
