The job is a member of the EMEA Passenger Sales Team within the Global Sales Organization.

The Frontline Sales Manager Germany/Switzerland is responsible for leading an experienced team of Specialists in Sales. You will expertly coach your direct reports to develop strong skills in value-based selling, account strategy and the American Airlines sales process.

With your strong ability to guide new account acquisition activities, you will be able to successfully penetrate accounts.

What you'll do

Success in this role is measured on the performance of direct reports in three areas:

  1. share of market
  2. quality of revenue
  3. new business development.

The main tools used to achieve these results are our contracted AJB agreements and a variety of tactical activities in the leisure channel market.

Specifically, you’ll

  • Be the primary liaison with local BA/IB/AY sales team to ensure mutual goals and objectives are agreed and met
  • Report to the Sr. Manager Europe, Sales
  • Embrace a culture of continuous sales effectiveness improvement

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Well developed sales coaching skills used to develop individual seller’s abilities
  • Strong value-based selling skills founded on business acumen
  • The ability to set effective strategies resulting in improved team and individual performance
  • Effective navigation of American Airlines’ internal business processes, protocols, and functional areas to support the sales team and improve performance
  • Knowledge of American Airlines value propositions, sales process, account management and sales best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Proven experience of building and maintaining strong and effective relationships with key clients
  • Excellent territory and account planning that balances potential and achievability
  • The ability to accurately diagnose known and unknown account business needs and translate them into opportunities and appropriate offerings
  • Strong understanding of business commercial acumen, including the ability to strategically solve complex issues
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proven creative problem solving, with strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong account strategy development and execution skills
  • Solid knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • The ability to communicate effectively in both spoken and written German and English
  • Understanding of net fare products to coordinate with revenue management on pricing actions
