What you'll do

• Collaborates with Business and IT leadership to determine and communicate systems vision, direction, work priorities and drives progress towards technology target roadmaps
• Ensures that sound agile project management, business analysis and quality assurance processes are in place and practiced
• Removes roadblocks, cultivates relationships and effectively communicates across Enterprise at various levels of leadership
• Manages and track project/program schedules and budgets with controller(s), as appropriate
• Manages and leads adoption and migration of new and emerging technologies
• Develops and mentors a team of highly skilled technologists (Project Managers, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance and Developers)
• Delegates responsibilities effectively across multiple development swim lanes
• Leads, influences and enforces technology standards
• Maintains an effective approach on problem solving, multi-tasking, coordinating and scheduling in accordance with stated goals to ensure visibility and predictability
• Manages production issues and off-hours support, communication and coordination
• Works extended hours occasionally, based on the needs of the project and the operation
• Travels, as required
• Lead a team of Software Professionals, providing leadership and coaching, facilitating performance reviews, and ensuring prioritization of work
• Contribute to our positive, team-oriented culture by developing and maintaining cooperative relationships, facilitating the resolution of conflicts, and accepting and providing constructive feedback
• Support and deliver products and services related to the aa.com website
• Drive the evolution of the migration for the monolith aa.com website into product team owned micro services in the cloud
• Work closely with the business product owners to deliver improved website features such as targeting, personalization, telemetry, UI, security, and more.
• Have full production operational support responsibilities for the teams applications
• Coordinate across product teams to provide a ‘one app’ look and feel
• Responsible for PCI & PII integrity

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
• 5 years of experience leading software delivery teams
• 5 years of operational support experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
• Airline industry experience, including business process and supporting technology


Skills, Licenses & Certifications

• Experience in managing, supporting and delivering ‘mission-critical’ projects/migrations
• Experience working with Agile project management methodologies and tools
• Experience in DevOps Toolchain methodologies, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects/work streams and demands efficiently
• Experience in leading a team of individuals with various levels of skills and experience in potentially high stress and challenging situations
• Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities and work environments
• Ability to thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment and leverage best practices
• Working knowledge and experience in technology environment (desktop computing, hardware and operating systems, networks, telecommunications etc.)
• Experience providing requirements, review, approvals for contracts, statements of work to vendor partners, internal vendor management groups and legal
• Experience managing financial budgets
