The Manager, Coverage & Pricing Inflammation Therapeutic Area, is a key member of the U.S. Value & Access organization responsible for engaging with subject matter experts and business unit leadership to support the development and execution of pricing, reimbursement, and contracting strategy to achieve and maintain payer coverage. The Manager will conduct qualitative and quantitative pricing/contracting analyses to support brand contracting and coverage strategy.

The Manager will help develop and execute coverage and pricing strategy for Enbrel and other specialty pharmacy products in the inflammation portfolio. They will gather, analyze and synthesize cross-functional information to support scenario-planning and customer insight development. In this dynamic and fast-paced environment, the candidate will be a key partner for the Market Access field teams for product-specific contract negotiations. This role interacts cross functionally with Value Strategy & Marketing, Patient Access, Ecosystems & Insights, Sales, Brand Marketing, Government Affairs, Trade & Distribution, Business Unit Leadership, Finance, Accounting, and Legal.

This role will provide a strong foundation in the U.S. healthcare market and is a good avenue to many future commercial healthcare roles. Amgen has strong training, education, and mentoring programs to ensure staff are successful.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Support Coverage & Pricing strategic planning for Enbrel and other specialty pharmacy inflammation products, including strategy presentation development for internal and external stakeholders
  • Engage with field (Sales & Market Access) to receive, prioritize and manage account inquiries and customer responses
  • Participate in pricing and contracting scenarios, contract decisions, LEDR and LRP involvement
  • Track Market Access payer coverage/POA goals, develop and maintain dashboard activities
  • Lead cross-functional special projects
  • Lead planning and logistics for Coverage & Pricing workshops and monthly meetings
  • Lead planning and logistics for Semester Meetings including navigating materials approval process
  • Provides new hire training for Market Access
  • Routinely interact with senior leadership and other high-level, cross functional committees or teams
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders; proactively seeks buy-in and provides on-going support to address business needs with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders, including Market Access (field), and specialty pharmacy stakeholders
  • Ensure alignment in strategy and execution of the plan with cross-functional teams including Brand, Medical, Patient Access, Value Marketing, GHE, Trade, and Policy


Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 2 years of experience in either sales, marketing, contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, analytics, healthcare, or sales operations
OR
Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience in either sales, marketing, contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, analytics, healthcare, or sales operations
OR
Associate's degree and 10 years of experience in either sales, marketing, contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, analytics, healthcare, or sales operations

OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of experience in either sales, marketing, contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, analytics, healthcare, or sales operations

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently and achieve results with multiple competing priorities
  • Exceptional written/oral communication skills and executive presence across functions and across different levels of leadership
  • Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatically scope problem solving approach, and manage execution
  • Experience solving complex business problems and managing analytics projects.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical/biotech environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility.
  • Authoritative command of complexity and ambiguity; ability to see the big picture; ability to collect, digest and assemble information to enable relevant business analyses
  • Experience in understanding modeling, being able to analyze, and draw conclusions from multiple, complex data sources
  • Vendor / Agency management experience
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytic skills
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence different styles
  • Adapts and thrives in a rapidly changing and fast-moving environment
  • Experience navigating the evolving U.S. healthcare system with specific interest on the interactions between Government and Healthcare.
