About The Job

Drive organizational / customer engagement, alignment and passion for the American Airlines brand. Lead the development of brand and advertising strategies.  Create paid media communications plans to support brand and commercial goals for the airline.  Coach and lead a team of four to work with media and creative agencies to develop and execute campaigns, closely collaborating with the others in the Integrated Marketing team.

 

Specifically, you’ll do the following:

  • Lead the development of brand and product positioning.
  • Ensure brand principles are weaved through all internal and external touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to adopt brand principles in their areas of focus. Work with internal communications teams to translate our brand promise to frontline team members.
  • Work with marketing strategy teams globally to prioritize and develop creative assets based on commercial objectives. 
  • Oversee creative consistency in paid media advertising, globally.  Work with international teams to adapt creative in local markets. Work with brand actions to develop creative assets needed for partnerships assets.
  • Lead paid media strategy. Measure campaign impact in order to determine most effective channels and maximize return on investment.
  • Set long-term innovation strategy in digital advertising. Work closely with IT, legal, data commercialization teams and partner marketing to develop innovative ad tech solutions that meet commercial needs.
  • Collaborate with strategy and customer insights teams to develop measurement plans to test, optimize and provide a measurement of success. Work with measurement and analytics team to measure brand health and track key brand value drivers.
  • Knowledge of latest advertising trends and technology.
  • Collaborate and inform key stakeholders and leadership.
  • Manage media and creative agency relationships to create positive working relationships and effective partnerships. Collaborates and provides strategic/commercial direction to agency partners.
  • Manage budget and agency statement of work.
  • Provide team leadership, support and development.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or equivalent experience/training
  • 7-10 years marketing experience with a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects
  • Previous experience managing relationships with third party vendors including advertising, media agencies or media owners/ intermediaries

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • Creative and media agency management experience
  • Solid understanding of traditional media KPIs and measurement
  • Experience in leading and developing team members
  • Ability to work with cross-functional groups and develop relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ability to participate in out of hours activities
  • Ability to travel throughout US to visit agency partners, key stakeholders and market visits
  • Must pass a background reference check and criminal fingerprint check
