Merchant Services is the global payment acceptance and merchant acquiring business of JPMorgan. Merchant Services is a leading provider of payment, fraud management and data security solutions, capable of authorizing transactions in more than 130 currencies. The company’s proprietary platforms provide integrated commerce solutions for all major credit and debit card payments as well as mobile payments. Merchant Services has uniquely combined proven payment technology with a long legacy of merchant advocacy that creates quantifiable value for ecommerce companies.

The Merchant Services Data and Analytics team is driving the build out of Merchant Services next generation data platform which will power industry leading client reporting, direct data consumption by our clients and analytics.

The Data Solutions Product Owner works collaboratively across Merchant Services product, analytics and technology teams to shape the strategic roadmap for Merchants Services next generation data platform and lead the delivery in an agile methodology. The position is ideal for an individual that can combine product management and end to end ownership experience, a deep understanding of next generation data and analytics environments and superior problem structuring skills. The position reports into the Chief Data Officer for Merchant Services.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Define the “what” – based on understanding on what adds business value to our merchant and Merchant Services as a business
• Drive and own end to end progress – based on clear understanding of the “what”, needs to make decisions and review output that lead to overall positive outcome
• Manage technology team within an agile delivery framework
• Align the firm – delivering a merchant solution requires collaborating across many cross-functional groups (e.g., analytics, sales, technology, data, compliance, legal); the solutions delivery manager needs to have a good understanding of all functions (with a spike in data) and create alignment by working across these functions
• Develop strategy for utilization of external data sources to improve insights and analytical conclusions
• Improve the data quality of current reporting to support the delivery of insights across all analytics platforms globally
• Develop ways in which we can use our data assets for clients to improve their experience
• Definition and execution of new business models / services based on data

Experience Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in the fields of engineering, computer science, statistics, mathematics
• Product management experience in an analytics/information technology setting
• Management consulting experience is a plus
• 7+ years of working in large and medium project teams, as a contributing member in self-directed roles.
• Expertise in data mining (esp. SQL on Hadoop) – candidate needs to have the ability to analyze data
• Expertise in data and analytics platforms, data base administration and data warehouse design and associated technologies (e.g., APIs)
• Understanding of application development process; prior programming experience preferred
• Experience in the payments industry and/or technology-enabled industries
• Experience in agile methodologies
