The JPMorgan Chase Legal Department is responsible for providing legal services to the Corporation and is organized by practice groups that generally align with the Corporation’s lines of business and corporate staff areas. This structure encourages legal teams, businesses and staff areas to discuss legal, regulatory and business developments effectively and in a timely manner.
The OGC helps attorneys make the best use of their time by providing centralized services and tools to i) develop professional skills, ii) manage projects and achieve business objectives, iii) optimize processes and technology, and iv) engage and connect employees. Further, the Legal OGC helps the Legal Management Team establish and execute the department’s objectives by driving and supporting initiatives to i) implement firm-wide standards and governance, ii) provide financial discipline and risk controls, iii) guide the people agenda and iv) drive best practices.
This resource will join the Legal Solutions team and be responsible for providing product owner and business analyst support on legal technology projects. The candidate will be responsible for partnering with the business to complete process reviews, data analysis and requirements gathering within an Agile/Extreme Programming environment. The candidate must be a highly-motivated individual and must be able to handle a high level of complexity within their span of control, be able to deal with and work through ambiguity, be flexible enough to shift workload in accordance with changing priorities, and be comfortable dealing with and leading in a fast-paced, priority-driven environment.
Responsible for facing-off with key business partners in order to understand the strategy, direction, and objectives for the business
Responsible for end-to-end Project Delivery to enhance business strategy, efficiency and governance, and optimization efforts
Ability to identify business process gaps and drive improved business operating models
Writing new user stories, specifying acceptance criteria for stories; groom and prioritize backlog, track issues and action items, measuring progress (e.g. value delivered to clients in each sprint), Available for Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews and Sprint Retrospectives
Reviewing acceptance tests with UAT team; Identifying users for UAT
Report to management and stakeholders
Maximizing ROI for the product
Communicate product vision and roadmap
Interact with multiple stakeholders and closely liaising with the Chief Product Owner
Minimum 5 years of relevant product owner / business analyst / project management experience required, including for mid-sized technology build-outs and deployments with accompanying process changes
Experience with Agile or Extreme Programming
Strong analytical, data management and requirements gathering skills
Experience in management of Minimal Viable Products (MVP), issues, risks and dependencies
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to quickly understand complex subject matter
Ability to execute tasks under aggressive targets and effectively manage to changes in plan
Ability to multi-task and prioritize issues
Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
Proficient in Microsoft applications
Ability to create effective presentations using PowerPoint
