JPMorgan’s Legal Department seeks an experienced, highly skilled lawyer who can provide legal support as Vice President & Assistant General Counsel to J.P. Morgan's Wholesale Payments business, specifically the Commercial Card division, within the Corporate and Investment Bank. J.P. Morgan’s Wholesale Payments business is one of the world’s largest providers of cash management, liquidity and escrow services.

 

The position will entail the provision of legal support on a wide range of issues within Commercial Card, including:

- Advising the business on key legal/regulatory issues.

- Providing legal analysis in relation to new business initiatives and assisting in the development and implementation of new products and services.

- Drafting and negotiating Commercial Card documentation.

- Collaborating with business teams and Legal and Compliance colleagues and other control functions to address and resolve complex issues and develop policies, procedures and training materials to advance the objectives of the business.

- Instructing and supervising external counsel, as required, on transactional matters and bespoke advice, including the review and analysis of legal opinions.

 

The role will be located in Chicago and will include collaboration with the Wholesale Payments Global Legal Team.

 



Qualifications:


- US law school degree (JD)

- Attorney's legal licensing must be in compliance with the regulations of the local jurisdiction where the attorney will work prior to commencement of employment.

- A minimum of seven years post-admission practicing experience with a major law firm, financial institution or judicial clerkship.

- Familiarity with privacy law, data security, marketing, intellectual property and/ or experience with a credit card issuer preferred.

- All candidates for roles in the Legal Department must successfully complete a conflicts of interest clearance review prior to commencement of employment.
