Job Description Summary
The Department of Natural and Applied Sciences at Bentley University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Environmental Science. The successful candidate will teach the equivalent of four courses (12 credit hours) each semester (laboratory and lecture) in the areas of environmental science, environmental chemistry, and water quality. Additional opportunities exist to develop new courses, such as sustainable food systems or environmental pollution, which complement the department domains of Environmental Sustainability and Health. Candidates that stress undergraduate research opportunities, fact-based communication, and the integration of inquiry-based teaching and learning in their courses are strongly encouraged to apply. The candidate will be joining a department that emphasizes systems analysis, planetary health, and the role that business can play to advance the overall wellbeing of people, the planet, and their prosperity.

Our programs prepare Bentley graduates with a background in concepts related to sustainability and competencies in evidence-based decision making. The successful candidate will be expected to advise students in the Sustainability Science B.A. program, the Earth, Environment, and Global Sustainability (EEGS) concentration of the Liberal Studies Major, and the EEGS minor. The ideal applicant will be a versatile, collegial, enthusiastic teacher who truly enjoys curriculum development, trying new pedagogies, and mentoring undergraduate students.
