Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and communicate high impacting production issues across complex, customer facing enterprise applications
  • Leverage production support findings to identify and implement automation initiatives that reduce toil and eliminate customer impact
  • Implement robust monitoring and self-healing solutions that detect and resolve issues before they are visible to users or customers
  • Influence the Agile/DevOps transformation by building trusted relationships with Application Development, Business and other support teams
  • Act as the custodian of the production environment and adhere to and promote strict project lifecycle methodologies while ensuring all relevant change management procedures are being followed
  • Interact with various teams to ensure a stable production environment, including but not limited to client facing support, application developers, business analysts, infrastructure, build & deployment and quality assurance
  • Develop and utilize core support tools and processes to perform work while improving day to day practices for support team members with the goal of delivering service improvements to the business
  • Maintain documentation on issue corrective actions in-line with best practice to ensure knowledge accessibility and continuous learning across the team


This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to lead and coordinate timely issue resolution activities for critical applications in partnership with other technical resolvers from database, web service, network, storage, OS system admin, application developer, and management teams.
  • 5+ years of related IT experience in prod support, engineering, system administration and/or application development
  • Excellent working knowledge of production support role, incident, and change management
  • Excellence in at least one Scripting Language – Bash, Perl, Ksh, Ruby, or Python
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux and/or Windows Server
  • Working knowledge of at least one Database technology - Sybase, Oracle, MS SQL, or Cassandra
  • Aptitude for learning and complex problem solving, advanced analytic skills
  • Ability to prioritize work load, multi task and react quickly to meet business expectations
  • Strong verbal and written communication across all levels in the organization
  • Skilled at building positive working relationships with peers and stakeholders, unifying teams to achieve business goals
  • Ability to understand, adhere to and suggest improvements to internal IT control policy and industry best-practice



Desired Experience:

  • Experience with Monitoring Tools such as Splunk, Wily, or DynaTrace
  • Experience with scheduling tools such as Control M and/or Autosys
  • Familiarity with Agile Methodologies
  • Working knowledge of Networking – TCP/IP, DNS, Global Load Balancing, Local Load Balancing
  • JPMorgan Chase or other enterprise scale financial industry experience
  • Familiarity with Ansible or other automation tools
  • Working knowledge of at least one Clustering Technology – Symantec Veritas Clustering or Windows Clustering
  • Working knowledge of Tomcat and/or IBM WebSphere
  • Working knowledge of Apache, IHS, or IIS
  • Familiarity with Virtualization Technologies – ESX and/or AIX LPAR
  • Familiarity with data storage technology – SAN or NAS
  • Capacity Management experience
  • MQ/UM experience
  • Experience with building or supporting Cloud Technology such as AWS, Cloud Foundry or Google Cloud
