Our Roanoke office is seeking a Junior Interior Designer. Successful candidates will have either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design from an accredited University.  Experience in a professional office environment of up to two years is preferred. Experience should include work on commercial, institutional and residential projects encompassing health care, assisted living, higher education, and/or multi-family. Renovation experience would be a plus. 

Skills and knowledge required include the following:
  • Must be willing to travel via ground and air, both locally and regionally (10%).
  • Proficiency in software packages including Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Google SketchUp, and Microsoft Office. Experience with Newforma is a plus.
  • Exhibit the visual skills and ability to understand and develop design solutions.
  • Ability and understanding of three-dimensional forms and models.
  • Ability to work with other team members and/or disciplines to coordinate interior features/responsibilities.
  • Multi-tasking; prioritization of assigned tasks.
  • Works with the design team to integrate the design concept with the rest of the project.
  • Ability to coordinate selection of interior finishes/material, interior construction administration and installation.
  • Must have strong presentation and communication skills for client interaction and decisions related to interior design.
  • Participates in marketing efforts and presentations with potential clients.
  • Possess knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of schematic design through construction drawings; ability to produce construction documents and write project specifications is a plus.
