The Compensation team has an exciting opportunity for a high-energy, experienced Compensation Manager to create and execute compensation strategies for an organization.  This individual must have a critically important balance of business acumen, organizational agility, strategy development and analytical capability to drive initiatives that directly support JPMorgan Chase. 


The successful candidate for this position will drive the compensation strategy for the assigned client area.  This individual will devise and implement compensation approaches to attract, reward and retain the talent necessary to meet JPMC’s goals in a rapidly changing environment.  In addition, this individual will lead projects and initiatives across the firm, and partner on firm-wide project teams.  The specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing compensation consulting and thought leadership to business leaders and business unit functions in close partnership with HR Business Partners
  • Performing complex analyses and presenting findings to senior management
  • Consulting with HR Business Partners, Executive Recruiting and Senior Managers to create competitive offer packages for key strategic hires
  • Review and approval of offer packages to ensure competitiveness and compliance with governance guidelines
  • Leading compensation related projects and initiatives involving multiple stakeholders with significant strategic and financial impact
  • Continually assessing market conditions and pay practices to ensure competitiveness of compensation plans and programs
  • Translating regulatory and policy governance/requirements into clear guidance for clients leveraging corporate partners and firm-wide resources to achieve desired outcomes efficiently and with consistency across lines of business, where appropriate


  • 8+ years compensation experience; incentive compensation plan design experience required; international compensation background preferred
  • Proven consulting skills; ability to drive business goals through HR / Compensation strategies and to address issues / devise solutions with creativity and innovation
  • Ability to work collaboratively and to cultivate and sustain strong partnerships with internal and external clients and colleagues
  • Well-developed analytical skills
  • Strong planning and project management skills
  • Exceptional systems skills; Business Objects and Web intelligence / Desktop Intelligence skills preferred.  Advanced MS Excel / Access skills required.
  • Ability to drive and sustain operational excellence and to develop controls
  • Bachelor’s degree required
