Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Senior IT Security Manager, the IT Security Analyst will be responsible for carrying out day-to-day operational Information Security related tasks and respond to cyber security related incidents. The IT Security Analyst will participate in vulnerability management, threat intelligence, and cyber security technology projects.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Act as IT Security Analyst by aligning standards, frameworks, and security with overall business and technology strategy.
  • Actively reviews the Information Security ticket queue and resolves or escalates assigned incidents on a timely basis.
  • Actively reviews the various security tools employed within the organization and works with outsourced security providers on a daily basis to analyze and remediate any security events.
  • Reviews weekly vulnerability scans and reports to determine organizational risk and create actionable mitigation plans.
  • Working with the IT Infrastructure team, administers anti-malware platforms and analyses and remediates corporate assets with potential malware.
  • Analyzes file samples and web links to identify if they are malicious and determine steps to remediate and mitigate any threats posed.
  • Working with other IT teams, supports the implementation, testing, management, and upgrades of cyber security related projects and technologies.
  • Review various third-party feeds to identify emerging security threats and help develop mitigation plans.
  • Supports security incident response and forensic investigations.
  • Supports cyber security audits to support corporate, financial, and regulatory processes for networks, applications, endpoint devices, and communications.
  • Assist with the maintenance and annual testing of the Cyber Incident Response Plan.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience/Skills:

AA degree with one year of applied security work experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and applicable job experience may be considered. Minimum 7 years of experience working with desktop/laptop technologies including Windows OSs and office applications in an enterprise environment using Active Directory and Exchange.

  • Excellent understanding of desktop/laptop technologies including Windows, MS-Office, imaging tools, and BIOS updates.
  • Excellent understanding of software systems patching, management, and deployment solutions.
  • Thorough knowledge of anti-virus and Windows security settings and controls.
  • Knowledge of network support, VLANs, VPN, firewalls, and wireless.
  • Task-oriented, able to prioritize work or escalate issues to management.
  • Exhibit a high-level of attention to detail.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of logging, monitoring, and event management applications.
  • Knowledge of Information Security standards, practices, procedures, and tools.

Scope:

Uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve issues in creative and effective ways, exercising judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of variable factors. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
