Amgen is seeking an IS Senior Manager - Communications & Change Management, to be based at our global headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA. The Senior Manager will report directly to the Director, IS Communications, Change Management & Learning, in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO).

The OCIO IS Communications & Change Management Office is focused on developing and implementing change management strategies and change management/communication tools to drive IS transformation throughout the organization.

The Senior Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing communication and change management strategies and processes that help increase individual and organizational engagement to achieve Amgen's business objectives across the Information Services (IS) organization. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for managing a portfolio of consulting projects and programs to ensure adoption of project goals and objectives

Key Responsibilities of the IS Senior Manager - Communications & Change Management will include:
  • Works with the Director IS Communications & Change Management to develop change management strategies and be an advocate for change management throughout the IS organization
  • Works closely with IS leadership and product teams to develop and execute change management/engagement activities for transformation initiatives impacting the IS organization
  • Leads staff members as they provide change management and communication support to key stakeholders
  • Provides cross-functional leadership by partnering with IS leadership and key stakeholder functions through effective team management. Facilitates team meetings and key communications in accordance with established processes; identifies and implements process improvements where appropriate
  • Anticipates and appropriately escalates issues that may impact IS strategy implementation through cross-functional coordination and engagement with key stakeholders
  • Develops compelling communications that clearly convey key messages
  • Works in partnership with internal and enterprise communications teams to ensure an integrated approach to delivering priority initiatives
  • Prepare metrics and document progress of ongoing projects and activities (status slides/dashboards)


Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Change Management and Communications experience

OR

Master's degree and 6 years of Change Management and Communications experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Change Management and Communications experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Change Management and Communications experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Change Management and Communications experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Possess a natural curiosity for, and proven track record in, delivering innovative, state-of-the-art communications approaches that drive targeted and high-impact results
  • Strong knowledge of, and experience in, change management and supporting transformation tools and processes
  • Strong collaborator; ability to coordinate with functions and staff in the company and outside vendors to achieve communications and business objectives
  • Strong oral and presentation skills; ability to negotiate and persuade
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong facilitation and group process experience
  • Ability to navigate a challenging and dynamic environment productively
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to deal with rapidly changing priorities
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management, staff and vendors
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; enthusiastic, team player and self-starter; serious commitment to hard work and excellence
