Overview

Supports the Corporate Investments department with daily operational routines, as well as monthly reporting requirements, risk assessments, and market analysis. The Investment Analyst will join a team of investment professionals who manage fixed income and equity portfolios. Incumbent should be knowledgeable in, and express an interest in, further learning about the fundamentals of security analysis, investment performance measurement, portfolio risk management, and credit analysis. The Investment Analyst will join a team of six investment professionals who manage fixed income and equity portfolios. Specifically the ideal candidate should be knowledgeable in, and express an interest in further learning about, the fundamentals of security analysis, investment performance measurement, portfolio risk management, and credit analysis. Responsibilities

  • Assist with all stages of trade flow management including trade instructions processing, trade adjustments, and related document retention
  • Monitor security settlements on a daily basis, and liaise with custody banks and broker-dealer trade support to rectify settlement issues
  • Track daily payment and redemption activity across portfolios and update cash flow forecasts
  • Prepare portfolio position data in Excel for Bloomberg models
  • Expedite routine portfolio reporting covering allocation, analytics, performance, etc.
  • Ability to grow into portfolio analysis and credit analysis functions
  • Process and track vendor invoices and broker agreements
  • Participate in discussions with investment colleagues on portfolio performance and risk, individual investment security characteristics, and the broader capital markets environment
  • Perform various special research projects for departmental managers as requested

font-size: 10pt;"><strong>TYPE & AMOUNT OF EXPERIENCE:</strong></span></p><ul><li><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Bachelors degree and/or advanced degree in finance, accounting or economics and 1-2 years of related experience </span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Support will be provided for progress towards earning the CFA charter (but not required)</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Experience and interest in following financial markets and economic data in real time</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Fundamental knowledge of, and drive to learn more about, the following investment sectors: treasuries, corporate debt, mortgage securitizations, municipals, and equities</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Understanding of fixed income security analysis concepts is preferred, including yield, duration, average life, spread analysis, and mortgage security-type analysis (e.g., prepayments, WAC/WAM)</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Familiarity with credit analysis concepts including debt service coverage, liquidity and profitability ratios</span></li></ul><p style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
