The job

You’ll be responsible for supporting the Web & Mobile platforms and their identified objectives and key results.  In this position, you’ll work within a cross-functional team where your work will have the opportunity to influence product decisions with ownership of projects from conception into development.  Digital product interns should share our passion for using data to build meaningful insights to create the best digital customer experience. You will be immersed in the airline industry and work with a highly dynamic team to differentiate American as an industry leader. During your Digital Internship you will gather data about Web & Mobile platforms and present your recommendations to leadership at the end of your internship.

 

Principal duties and Responsibilities:

The Web & Mobile platform team is responsible for delivering initiatives to support objectives for all digital channels.  This role will support a variety of efforts to help the team achieve their objectives and key results.  Specific responsibilities include:

  • Conduct research and analysis to identify gaps, discover opportunities to enhance the platform tools and drive growth of digital products
  • Reporting and analysis of customer engagement with mobile, web and customer service platforms 
  • Collaborate and work closely with internal partners from IT, UX and Analytics to understand customer behavior and identify opportunities
  • Support the product platform team in executing roadmap initiatives and priorities 
  • Identify and develop metrics/OKRs to support new business use cases
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with competing priorities, deadlines and business values
Requirements and qualifications

*    Pursuing a degree in Business or digital-related field
*    Experience with data and drawing out insights to better understand consumer behavior
*    Passionate about the airline industry, travel and e-commerce
*    Forward-thinking self-starter who can transition easily between independent and collaborative team structures
*    Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with people at all levels within and outside of the company
*    Strong written/oral communication skills with the ability to develop and deliver clear, concise presentations
*    Proficient in Microsoft Office
