The Human Resources (HR) Sr Manager position is within the Amgen HR Diversity Inclusion & Belonging (DI&B) team, responsible for supporting projects and initiatives which span across the talent team, diversity and inclusion, as well as across Amgen HR and in some cases across Amgen corporate-wide. A critical component of this role is structuring and supporting our employee resource groups (ERGs) globally, including streamlining of our ERGs for global consistency, providing budgetary guidance and ensuring initiatives have the right impact that aligns with Corporate DI&B goals and priorities. This role will be the lead in supporting the creation, execution of ERG & DI&B strategies by utilizing strong facilitation, collaboration, and strong project management skills.

Types of projects may include:
  • Supporting ERG leadership and Executive Sponsors in the review and development of strategic plans to better enable ERGs to support the business needs
  • Assessing DI&B external partners and opportunities that align and support our DI&B strategy. This will also include vendor management for DI&B projects and initiatives
  • Capturing and understanding our diversity data internally, while measuring, tracking and analyzing the effectiveness of DI&B initiatives
  • Managing key aspects of D&I budget, including approval of Employee Resource Group expenses in accordance with internal policies


Responsibilities Include :
  • Working with team members to identify and focus the team on critical path activities and developing and delivering status reports
  • Working with our compliance and EEO/AA offices, this position will help ensure all aspects of compliance as it relates to diversity and inclusion at Amgen
  • In-depth knowledge and leverages business acumen and practical experience within the DI&B space
  • Work is guided by business plans for DI&B area
  • Applies independent judgement and decision making


Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 2 years Diversity & Inclusion, EEO/AAP or HR experience

OR

Master's degree and 4 years Diversity & Inclusion, EEO/AAP or HR experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 6 years Diversity & Inclusion, EEO/AAP or HR experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years Diversity & Inclusion, EEO/AAP or HR experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years Diversity & Inclusion, EEO/AAP or HR experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years leadership experience (with or without direct authority) or building or executing people programs, organizational development strategies or learning opportunities
  • Ability to build visuals and decks that will positively represent programs and initiatives
  • Ability to lead and influence without authority, think proactively, and function independently
  • Ability to drive initiatives and programs across a global organization and within smaller working teams
  • Experience working with cross-functional global teams and ability to build relationships people at all levels of the organization. A change agent who is passionate about building an inclusive culture
  • Ability to understand, balance, and articulate both tactical and long-term planning issues
  • Strong quantitative, analytical (technical and business), and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize across multiple projects/tasks and handle diverse assignments simultaneously
  • Strong verbal and written communication combined with organizational skills and cross-cultural sensitivity
