Amgen is searching for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support the Information Science (IS) organization and Amgen Thousand Oaks (ATO) Site activity. The role will report to the Executive Director, Human Resources - Corporate Functions.

Accountabilities:
  • Consult with business leaders to identify Human Resources (HR) challenges and opportunities and recommend thoughtful and sound solutions to achieve business objectives.
  • Coach clients on a variety of HR and business-related issues to increase effectiveness and improve work culture.
  • Lead, in partnership with the relevant HR centers of expertise, leadership development, talent management, compensation strategies, engagement and retention, culture and ongoing organizational design/workforce strategy initiatives.
  • Participate as an active member of the functional senior leadership team. Develop and drive initiatives and programs that meet local needs while remaining aligned with global strategies.
  • Work closely with IS leadership to create and deliver on robust and cutting-edge career and individual development activities.


This position will be located at Amgen's corporate headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA.

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Human Resources experience
OR
Master's degree and 4 years of Human Resources experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 6 years of Human Resources experience
OR
Associate's degree and 10 years of Human Resources experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Human Resources experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or Master's degree with emphasis in such areas as organizational development, management, human resources or employee/labor relations.
  • 5+ years of complex/strategic HR experience, including organization effectiveness, staff relations, compensation, talent development and recruitment.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand business needs and develop strategic and practical solutions to tangible business challenges, sound knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations and business practices related to the field of Human Resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities, adapt to ever changing demands, and possess an intellectual curiosity, desire and ability to understand the business.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a diverse culture that promotes inclusion as a source of innovation and engagement.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, consulting and project management skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence all levels of management and executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner proactively with other HR and business functions.
