Amgen's 10 - 12 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation.

Limited relocation housing and/or miscellaneous allowance may be available for eligible candidates.

The intern will be joining Facilities & Engineering (F&E) group within Manufacturing and Clinical Supply organization at Amgen. The group's mission is to enable introduction and integration of new technologies while ensuring existing clinical and commercial facilities and equipment operate reliably. This position will report into the Engineering function supporting drug product supply at Amgen Thousand Oaks. Coaching, mentorship, and guidance will be provided to the intern as they engage in projects that significantly improve operational efficiencies and equipment reliability by deploying predictive maintenance strategies, optimizing systems classifications based on quality and business risks, and develop interactive dashboards for equipment monitoring.

Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

18 years or older

Graduated with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent

Completion as a first year graduate student before internship starts and currently enrolled in a Master's program for a Masters internship OR PhD for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university

Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment

Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree Concentration(s) in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Preferred GPA of 3.5 or above
  • Leadership skills (e.g. projects, clubs, organizations etc)
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of MS Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, project management, problem solving, analytical and quantitative skills
  • Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility and adaptability
