Amgen's 10 - 12 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation.

Limited relocation housing and/or miscellaneous allowance may be available for eligible candidates.

BSI provides seamless integration of the business of Process Development with our innovative Scientists and Engineers, while driving PD to be a more effective, efficient, and value-driven organization. This is realized by developing and improving Analysis and Performance across PD to enable advancement of our portfolio.

The intern will engage in key PD initiatives (e.g., advancing PD Excellence and driving Objective Key Results), support financial business cases, and perform strategic analyses to provide decision support to the PD senior leadership. The intern will work with our business partners from across Operations, Finance, Commercial, R&D and Strategy to successfully deliver on BSi commitments. This project will allow for the opportunity to develop and manage key processes, forums, and communications within PD.

Opportunities for the successful candidate include the following:
  • Business case and financial model development
  • Cross-functional understanding of the business of Process Development
  • Resource forecasting and capacity management
  • Advancing business analytics (tools, visualization, and automation)
  • Productivity and continuous improvement/operational excellence


Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

18 years or older

Graduated with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent

Completion as a first year graduate student before internship starts and currently enrolled in a MBA program for a MBA internship OR a Master's program for a Masters internship from an accredited college or university

Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment

Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

Preferred Qualifications

Degree concentration(s) in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or related field

Biopharma experience a plus

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to multitask; effectively prioritize, plan, and follow through on complex projects

Ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally

Strong quantitative and qualitative skills including financial analysis, cost accounting, and product life-cycle management

Good business acumen, high-level strategic thinking and strong analytical skills

Demonstrated understanding of drug development, commercialization and operations planning

Demonstrated proficiency in solving complex problems; ability to work independently; proactively seek outside resources and collaborate; self-starter and team player with strong leadership and decision-making skills
