Amgen's 10-12 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation. Limited relocation housing and/or transportation allowance may be available for eligible candidates.

The intern will be responsible for driving cross-functional alignment, crafting integrated and meaningful communications, and furthering our efforts for impactful external engagement by proactively communicating how Amgen delivers value to the healthcare system through innovative and sustainable solutions.

The intern will collaborate across functions and will develop and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues in Corporate Affairs, R&D, Global Health Economics, Value and Access, and Government Affairs to coordinate and align efforts related to engagement, value proposition evidence, and communication to critical partners across the healthcare ecosystem.

This position offers broad exposure to many internal cross-functional partners and provides an opportunity for a creative individual to help craft communication outputs on Amgen's value positioning to educate internal staff as well as scaling messaging to external partners: policy makers, patient advocates, media, and healthcare professionals.

Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
  • 18 years or older
  • Graduated with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
  • Completion as a first year graduate student before internship starts and currently enrolled in a Master's program for a Masters internship OR PhD for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university
  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts


Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree concentration(s) in health policy, health economics, life sciences, pharmacy, and/or corporate/business communications
  • Payer and/or market access and/or health economics and/or corporate/medical communications and/or biopharma/healthcare experience
  • Knowledge of the biopharma industry and challenges facing the sector
  • Experience with media communication channels
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate and simplify complex topics into digestible and impactful communications
  • Strategic and analytical abilities
  • Superb interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to research/learn/synthesize findings rapidly on topics and provide strategic recommendations and plans
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint
