Amgen's 10 - 12 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation. Limited relocation housing and/or transportation allowance may be available for eligible candidates.

Finance summer intern will be assigned relevant projects that align with Amgen's strategic goals and provide cross-functional exposure. Projects may include but are not limited to: Improve standard costing process for contract manufacturing and identify further opportunities for scrap reduction. Additional responsibilities may include supporting various Finance managers on tasks related to monthly close, monthly forecasting, and ad-hoc projects related to Amgen's overall business operations.

Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
  • 18 years or older
  • Graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
  • Completion as a first year graduate student before internship starts and currently enrolled in a Master's program for a Masters internship OR a PhD for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university
  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

Preferred Qualifications
  • In the process of completing the first year of a Master's program with concentration in Economics, Business Administration, Biotechnology Management, Accounting or Finance
  • Graduating within 12 months of internship's completion
  • 1 or more years relevant work experience
  • 3.2 GPA and above
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of basic financial analytical principles
  • Effective communication and detailed oriented
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Strong interpersonal, project management, analytical and quantitative skills
  • Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility and adaptability
  • Ability to effectively operate independently, across functional lines, and with both internal and external customers
  • Biotechnology, pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience
