Third Party Operations and Controls (TPOC) is a function within the Global Supplier Services that establishes a firmwide framework for third party oversight, and manages various operational activities (e.g., third party onboarding, assessments, and payments) in a manner that is effective, efficient, consistent and sustainable.


The Project Manager (PM) role resides within TPOC Strategy & Operations, which is a function that articulates TPOC vision, runs TPOC program management, communications, business management, change management, training, etc.


The PM will be assigned to manage delivery of different projects, depending on the needs and priorities.  The project matters vary, but in general all are related to improving either technology or processes related to supplier’s oversight, inter-affiliate relationship oversight, supplier payments, approvals, accounts payable, etc.


The PM will be expected to articulate the objectives and scope of the projects; develop a plan with milestones, critical dependencies, metrics, timeframes, etc.  The PM may be directly responsible to execute / deliver certain project deliverables / outputs, or manage delivery / outputs from other people assigned to the project. 


Throughout the course of the project, the PM will ensure that risks, issues and dependencies are identified and managed appropriately.  This requires thinking ahead, understanding the “big picture”, and ability to re-prioritize and determine alternative solutions and mitigants.  The PM will investigate and surface issues as they arise to ensure the timely and high quality delivery of the project.


Throughout the course of the project, the PM will be responsible for up-to-date project completion metrics and status updates.


The PM will support routines required for successful execution of the project, including scheduling and facilitating team and stakeholder check-ins, providing materials and updates for various forums, and assist in the development of training and communication content. 


This individual will also be expected to interface with TPOC leadership and to develop Power Point presentations and Excel data analytics.  Some meeting logistics support will also be expected. 


This position requires close collaboration with teammates within TPOC and Global Supplier Services (GSS), as well as Corporate Functions and Lines of Business.  The PM will not have direct reports, but will be expected to oversee and work with people assigned to the projects from various groups; the individual must be able to lead without direct authority.

    • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, preferably in financial services industry or management consulting

    • Minimum 4 years of experience in program / project manager role

    • Business acumen - experience in financial services industry, or supplier management, or payment operations, or similar other relevant field

    • Financial acumen = "know how" to articulate project objectives and business case (explain the project in financial terms)

    • Ability to articulate project scope, objectives, create a work plan, define outputs, resource requirements

    • Experience and excellence in day-to-day oversight of project activities, prioritization, and managing delivery from other people assigned to the project

    • Creativity and problem solving skills – must be able to resolve issues and manage project risks and come up with alternative solutions / workarounds

    • “Hands-on” contributor = comfortable creating deliverables without much input from others

    • Drive project discipline and quality – from himself and others

    • Experience with metrics and data-driven project management – must be able to define project metrics, manage data collection / analysis / metrics reporting

    • Prepare ongoing, high-quality status reports and issue updates to meet needs of the TPOC management team, stakeholders, and senior management

    • Respond to information requests and provide updates on task status, financials, and projections

    • Experience with Agile PM and advanced project management methods - desired, not a must

    • Self-starter with effective teamwork, problem solving and facilitation skills

    • Excellence and attention to details in all written communications
