The GPS Solutions Subject Matter Expert is responsible for:
  • Supporting the HR Business Partner, Managers and employees in the delivery of complex HR Solutions product offerings services primarily focused on Immigration and Relocation, but may also include other HR products.
  • Demonstrates strong product/service knowledge to help resolve manager and employee issues in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring a high quality client experience.
  • Advise and assist a sophisticated client base in a fast-paced client service environment, providing a high-level of service when responding to questions regarding immigration matters, status updates, work authorization, green card reviews, etc.
  • Serves as an escalation/high-level point of contact and acts as an intermediary, while overseeing relationships with clients and HR partners and building rapport.
  • Recommends strategic enhancements to improve effectiveness and efficiency of processes to increase employee satisfaction.
  • Performs work under general supervision and capable of handling highly sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Recommends process improvements on a consistent basis, identifies gaps and brings consistency and efficiency to our global and regional processes.
  • Provides project management support.
  • Trains team on processes and procedures.
  • Conducts presentations in front of large groups.
  • Manages mailboxes for incoming inquiries from employees.
  • Key Responsibilities include:
  • Domestic and International Relocation:
  • Reviews, consults and makes recommendations on International and Domestic Relocation processes to managers and HR Business Partners.
  • Identifies trends and areas of improvement on processes in partnership with Global Mobility Team.
  • Completes data entry of key components such as cost estimates into the relocation system and partners with managers on approval process.

 

 Green Card:

  • Partners with HR Business Partners, managers and foreign nationals on green card related immigration matters including day to day questions, practices, and policies.
  • Supports the green card sponsorship process for foreign nationals, inclusive of data management, review of justifications, and ensuring key criteria are met for Department of Labor.
  • Builds strong relationships with Immigration Legal and partners with them on detailed queries and next steps in immigration related activity.
  • Maintains immigration data files for Foreign Nationals on visas and green cards.
  • Creates reports and compile metrics including pivot tables for immigration data.

 

Visa/Work Authorization:

  • Supports programs related to work authorizations and visas allowing for continued employment in the US.
  • Review and owns recommendations on team processes and guidelines by identifying areas of improvement in partnership with various HR and Immigration groups (where applicable).
  • Drives cross line of business review for consistent approach.

 

Risk & Control Support:
  • Implements and/or follows practices and policies that are required to meet and support the risk and controls environment.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Specific skills and experience required:

 

  • In depth knowledge of an area of specialization, as well as broad knowledge of other functions and/or businesses.
  • Knowledge of all relevant immigration laws, practices and procedures and how they impact our workforce. Understanding of various visas, requirements for immigration programs, etc.
  • Experience with domestic relocations and expatriate assignments.
  • Ability to apply critical and analytical thinking to identify issues/trends; develops creative, strategic, tailored solutions that improve HR/business efficiencies.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management, consulting, influencing and negotiating; adjusts positively and readily to multiple demands, shifting priorities and rapid change.
  • Proven advisory and leadership skills; operates with sense of urgency and ownership, flexibility and responsiveness.
  • Process–oriented, with the ability to drive efficiency and scale with a focus on the employee experience.
  • Professional maturity and ability to work under minimal supervision with ability to flex style and approach to meet varied needs of a diverse, global environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (clear, timely, concise) and proficient in MS Office. Ability to produce reports and articulate a story with data.
  • High degree of independent decision making and autonomy
  • Knowledge and understanding of HR systems preferred (i.e. PeopleSoft, Manager Connection, Answer Key, Assignment Pro, etc.)
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Human Resources Management or equivalent Human Resources experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years (U.S. only) HR experience preferred; college degree or equivalent experience. HR certifications a plus.
