The Legal Department is seeking a highly motivated individual to join us as the General Counsel of the Auto Finance line of business.  


The successful candidate will:

  • Advise JPMorgan Chase Auto Finance on matters regarding originations of indirect auto loans, dealer management and manufacturer partnerships. 
  • Provide legal advice regarding product development, industry laws and regulations, marketing, dealer management, and other business matters.
  • Prepare programs with significant dealers and strategic business partners.
  • Negotiate agreements with partners and vendors
  • Participate in various control, compliance and risk initiatives that affect the Retail and Consumer Auto Finance business.
  • Monitor legal obligations and working with the business to implement  changes responsive to new federal and state legal and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in cross-line of business initiatives and working with other legal teams to ensure consistent interpretation and application of laws across CCB, as appropriate
  • All other duties as necessary or assigned in connection with legal support to the business


The successful candidate will:

  • JD, admitted to practice in and member of the TX bar or able to complete all in-house registration requirements
  • 15 years of financial institution representation is required; Will consider well-qualified candidates with at least 10 years for an Exec Director title
  • Experience preparing commercial and consumer legal documentation required
  • Knowledge of applicable consumer finance laws is required
  • Excellent legal skills and judgment including ability to interpret and explain statutes and regulations
  • Keen understanding and knowledge of the regulatory environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage complex projects and multitask successfully in fast-paced and changing business environment
  • Must complete conflicts check as part of the pre-employment screening process
