Responsibilities:
  • Work within the Financial Aid Systems and Application Processing Office.
  • Assist Manager with testing and implementing all upgrades/patches to enhance the Banner Financial Aid system
  • Plan and develop training documents to give to Managers for staff training
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the Aid Like A Paycheck disbursement process, Automic (UC4), FormFusion, ARGOS, Lexmark Perceptive Software, Self-Service Banner (SOS), Degreeworks (My SJC GPS), Texas specific (Texas Connection Consortium - TCC) modules of Banner, HTML, XML, and SQL
  • Implement all new related features as delivered by Ellucian
  • Provide troubleshooting/problem solving to Financial Aid module and related software
  • Assist Dean of Financial Aid with federal and state reporting
  • Assist Manager with New Aid Year Setup
  • Interpret complex information and make evaluative determinations and recommendations
  • Collaborate with other college departments
  • Other duties assigned




Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of technical report writing
  • Must be capable of interpreting software technical manuals
  • Must be capable of working independently with minimum supervision
  • Must have excellent communication, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Must be available to work overtime, possibly weekends, if needed

Required Education/Experience/Skills:
  • An Associate's Degree or higher in computer science or closely related program of study
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with a relational database
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, XML, and SQL programming languages

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:

  • At least three (3) years of experience working with the Banner Financial Aid System and related software (including, but not limited to, Degreeworks, Banner Communication Manager, Banner Workflow, ARGOS, and Lexmark Perceptive Software)
  • Work experience in a higher education setting


Salary Grade: 18

Salary is based on the Board-approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year. See Salary Schedule
