This position works directly with the construction project team to provide field accounting support and care for project administrative tasks. This person will work from the Boldt Waukesha Office and will report directly to the Accounting Manager and indirectly to the Boldt Project Manager. The hours are generally expected to be 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The Accountant will be immersed in a construction project, with exposure to the professional fields of architecture, engineering, and construction. A qualified candidate will have the opportunity to use his/ her communication skills, management skills, basic accounting and data entry skills in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform project activities related to accounts payable, accounts receivables, and client billings.
  1. Review owner contracts to ensure we are complying with contract requirements when billing out labor, equipment, materials and subcontractors.
  1. Perform a variety of accounting, administrative and clerical tasks as directed by Project Manager(s), Accounting Manager or Operations Manager(s) which includes checking and verifying data for completeness and accuracy.
  1. Maintain liaison with project and corporate management to ensure all accounting related activities support the construction schedule, cost report formats and client requirements.
  1. Support, facilitate and perform as required, basic accounting and data entry tasks including: execution and administration; accounts payable processing, vendor invoice/packing slip reconciliation and preparation, and other tasks to assist accounting professionals.
  1. Participate in and be an actively engaged team member in the Admin./Finance huddles focused on communication and process improvement.


  1. Ability to demonstrate attention to detail. Strong initiative for organizational and problem-solving skills. Accuracy is a must.
  2. Professional with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  3. Professional telephone manner and customer service skills
  4. Demonstrate the ability to take initiative & and solve problems quickly
  5. Conscientious and meticulous approach to duties, sees tasks through to completion and completes tasks in a timely manner.
  6. Strong knowledge of excel required
  7. Ability to work independently
  8. Demonstrate understanding & respect for age group, cultural & religious beliefs of clients, community & staff.

College-level degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or similar; or comparable education through on the job training is required. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, Outlook & Adobe/Bluebeam.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk and hear. The employee regularly is required to walk and reach with hands. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee frequently uses computer keyboard, regularly travels (as vehicle driver and as passenger on various modes of transportation), and occasionally performs work on-site at construction work sites. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employee views computer monitor frequently.
