The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum Events and Culinary Department

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum has an opening for a full-time, exempt Entertainment Sales Manager in the Events and Culinary Department.

Company Overview: Located in the heart of downtown Nashville, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum documents and interprets the history of country musica musical genre and culture central to the identity of the city, the state, and the nation. Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, the museum proudly combines subject expertise, ambitious research, and preservation of an unparalleled collection with expressions of creativity in music, art, and history. The museum collects artifacts that illustrate the evolving history and traditions of country music while providing diverse learning opportunities. The core exhibit follows the story of country music from its folk beginnings through its emergence as a commercial art form. Rotating exhibits examine a broad range of topics, from country classics to ultra-contemporary and emerging artists in American Currents. The museum owns Hatch Show Print, a letterpress print shop opened in 1879, and it operates Historic RCA Studio B, where Elvis Presley and many others recorded.

Departmental Overview:The events and culinary department is responsible for executing more than 1,700 events taking place at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum on an annual basis, revenue from which goes directly to supporting the overall mission of the Museum. Specifically, this includes private events, publically ticketed events/concerts and two in-house restaurants.

Job Overview:The Entertainment Sales Manager will report to the Sr. Manager of Event Entertainment, demonstrating a high level of entertainment and event sophistication to all stakeholders. He or she will have event entertainment and production accountability for a broad range of internal and external events. He or she will serve as an entertainment ambassador, ensuring the creation and execution of professional first-rate entertainment for events at the Hall of Fame.

Responsibilities:

  • The Entertainment Sales Manager will carefully ascertain client entertainment needs / desires and discern priorities and combine this information with a knowledge of the Hall of Fames production capabilities / space potential, to propose and create an unforgettable entertainment experience.
  • He or she will be responsible for selling 20% of the Event Entertainment revenue goals per year.
  • The Entertainment Sales Manager will demonstrate extensive knowledge of sound, lighting, and other production aspects and explain their value during the entire sales and event execution process.
  • Maintain annual outlined profit margins and cost of sales as provided in guidelines from the Senior Manager of Event Entertainment.
  • He or she will show flawless attention to detail by handling all necessary paperwork and coordinating all aspects of the event with other departments within the Hall of Fame.
  • Audits the client fees in department software to insure accurate billing and reporting of data.
  • The Manager will display a professional, can-do attitude with clients, performers, fellow employees, and any other stakeholders.
