Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in administration, management, planning or other related discipline, preferred.
    • Two (2) years related experience which includes planning at a local, regional, state or federal level.
  • Applicants who lack the preferred education may substitute additional experience as indicated on a year for year basis.
    • Excellent writing and computer skills required.
  • Must be able to pass a respirator fit test and wear an Air Purified Respirator when required as a condition of employment.



POSITION SUMMARY

The EMS Task Force Planner performs technical planning related to domestic preparedness in accordance with guidelines set forth by ARMC'S, state and federal government, for, and on behalf of, the State of New Jersey, and emergency operational assignments, under the direction of the Assistant Chief of EMS. Responsibilities include: for planning, training and coordinating the activities of the South Region EMS Task Force. Ensures timely completion of objectives related to the HERSA area; does related work as required.



QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Two (2) years related experience which includes planning at a local, regional, state or federal level. Applicants who lack the preferred education may substitute additional experience as indicated on a year for year basis.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid New Jersey Emergency Medical Technician certification or Paramedic certification with a minimum of three years experience. A valid State of New Jersey driver's license required. Valid AHA CPR for Healthcare Providers certification required. Completion of ICS-200, ICS 300, I-700, I-800, and Hazmat Awareness and Operations level required. Weapons of Mass Destruction Awareness and Operations level training required within 6 months of hire. Instructor certifications preferred. ACLS and PALS or PEPP required for Paramedics.

EXPERIENCE: Experience in the area of emergency/disaster planning preferred.
