Responsibilities:
  • Provide educational planning, registration assistance, and assistance in accessing and navigating institutional requirements to dual credit and/or ECHS students.
  • Assist with the TSIA testing for dual credit and ECHS students and/or HB 5 students at a variety of sites.
  • Assist director and coordinator with class scheduling and registration of dual credit and/or ECHS students.
  • Assist dual credit directors and coordinators with student recruitment activities and parent information sessions.
  • Provide information to dual credit students about the transition from high school to college.
  • Collect and distribute dual credit materials from high school counselors.
  • Assist with collection of midterm and final college grades and their timely distribution to high schools.
  • Plan and implement summer activities for incoming dual credit students.
  • Prepare presentation materials for various recruiting and orientation events under supervision of the director or coordinator.
  • When deemed appropriate by the dual credit director, assist with registration and advising of college students during peak times.
  • Develop Banner and Argos skills to be able to register students, trouble-shoot holds, and generate reports as needed.
  • Become highly knowledgeable regarding THECB and TEA rules applicable to dual credit and ECHSs.
  • Work cooperatively with counterparts on the other campuses to achieve the College's annual goals and objectives.
  • Assist with planning, delivery, and support of Dual Diploma Ceremonies and other campus events for ECHSs.
  • Attend homeschool events to provide information on dual credit.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.





Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Facilitate timely, professional communication and problem resolution strategies.
  • Ability to work successfully with high school students.
  • Demonstrate diplomacy and tact in communicating with and meeting the needs of the high schools and the college.
  • Must be knowledgeable about the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) and the college's policies and procedures related to TSI.
  • Must be knowledgeable about and be responsive to FERPA law and regulations.
  • Maintain processes and systems that improve the quality of customer support services.
  • Demonstrate working functional knowledge and use of required Banner screens.
  • Must adhere to the highest principles of ethical behavior and strive to ensure the fair, objective, and impartial treatment of all persons with whom they deal.
  • Must use reasonable and informed practices to limit the liability exposure of the institution, its officers, employees, and agents.
  • Serve as student advocates to the faculty and administration.
  • Must possess outstanding customer service skills and have the ability to work with multiple projects and within deadlines.
  • Must be available for occasional nights and weekends activities.
  • Must exhibit an enthusiastic spirit, high level of energy as well as a desire to work with high school students.
  • Must be team-oriented with the ability to work well with other staff and faculty members in the development and administration of programs throughout the college and on the assigned high school campuses.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, and presentation skills required.
  • Possess personal computer literacy and good organizational skills.

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Experience:
  • Experience in career advising, academic advising, minority concerns, learning styles/study skills, retention, and recruiting - preferably at Community College level.
  • Knowledge and experience with administering and evaluating college-level assessments, including computerized assessments.
  • Banner experience preferred.


Salary Grade: 21
