Overview

Discovery Digital Studios is seeking an editorial assistant to help with website content building and SEO optimization. Attention to detail, experience with content management systems, and knowledge of SEO practices are required. A love of decorating, garden, and/or travel is a plus.



Responsibilities

1. Assist editors with building articles, photo galleries and video playlists on HGTV.com and Travel Channel.com
2. Write SEO headlines, titles and descriptions for photos, photo galleries, videos and articles
3. Select, edit and write metadata for images to be used on the websites
4. Proof article and photo gallery copy and check for proper SEO information and metadata
5. Optimize existing content for improved performance
6. Curate photos based on SEO trends and content gaps, as assigned by managing editor
7. Address customer service issues related to site content accuracy



Qualifications

* BA in Journalism, English, or related field, or commensurate experience
* 1+ years of editorial experience, ideally at a digital media company
* Experience working in a variety of content management systems to publish digital content; direct work in Adobe Experience Manager is a plus
* Familiarity with writing for SEO, SEO best practices, and content optimization; direct experience preferred
* Knowledge of AP Style
* Strong oral and written communications skills, as well as exceptional organization and time-management skills

* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
