The Role

The Process Engineering Center of Excellence (PE COE) is a global team of internal consultants that executes key business transformations and advances CCB Operations towards a state of operational excellence. Our solutions improve end-to-end processes, resulting in increased front-line engagement, decreased risks, and help foster a culture of continuous improvement.

 

We are currently seeking an Executive Director who would be an expert in Lean Principles and project management to promote the continuous improvement culture by teaching LEAN sustainment problem-solving and improvement activities. Sustain the Lean Management & Operational System (LMOS) with increased  intensity and higher degree  of  standardization  of  the  work  functions  associated  with  lean while improving iterations of standard work. Support the existing LMOS environment by reducing waste, preserving and promoting the economic stability for our organizational partners and staff.

 

The LMOS Sustainment Executive Director will serve as a lean advocate and will sustain lean momentum and nurture stakeholder engagement across the bank.  The ideal candidate will implement strategy and sustainment capabilities focusing on budget reduction. While the effects of these changes may increase as more people are involved and as lean is introduced to new areas, the activities and the capabilities of those performing them should remain relatively stable. This role encompasses project management, consultation, facilitation, training, and execution for a range of critical in initiatives. Multi-dimensional strategic initiatives that require planning and analysis for a broad array of complex financial, operational and technical issues to improve cost position, productivity, efficiency, customer obsession and overall performance.

 

This role will focus on sustaining lean momentum in terms of spreading the LMOS methodology to more organizational units. The issue of sustainability through vertical as well as horizontal development is a central part of our continuous improvement culture. The sustainment ED will execute the Sustainment model by:

  1. Facilitating behavioral activities such as idea generation and problem-solving.
  2. By creating systems, procedures, and processes in the organization.
  3. Foster a joint Continuous improvement and Lean environment through the reimaging ops program.
  4. Focus on capability development.
  5. Build a shared understanding of the lean philosophy and how it impacts the individual and the organization.
  6. Organize and develop project team resources in order to effectively implement project commitments.
  7. Create a learning environment that encourages employees to feel personally conscious of quality improvement and internal and external customer focus. Work as part of a larger group to update and align educational methods and curriculum.
  8. Train appropriate personnel, track progress, communicate progress, audit and drive sustainment.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with key organizational and site operational leaders to identify and achieve priorities, goals and objectives.
  • Planning, coordination, and execution of LEAN/LMOS strategy at organization level.
  • Develop metrics to successfully track improvement LMOS sustained benefits
  • Ensure all elements of cost, benefit, and risk are identified and considered during the project planning.
  • Demonstrate, not only the benefits of the performance and process improvement initiatives, but also, the costs are far outweighed by the benefits, ensuring reasonable return on investment.
  • Sustain already implemented LMOS initiatives.
  • Manage large, organization-wide improvement teams through the full process improvement cycle. Coach, lead, model, and train Lean practitioners in Lean continuous improvement thinking and projects.
  • Organize and develop project team resources in order to effectively implement LMOS sustainability commitments.
  • Create a learning environment that encourages employees to feel personally conscious of quality improvement and internal and external customer focus. Work as part of a larger group to update and align educational methods and curriculum.
  • Analyze and resolve problems through the use of Lean, OCM or project management. Foster the use of scientific problem-solving using facts and data, value stream mapping, standardized work, visual management, and leader standard work.
  • Train appropriate personnel, track progress, communicate progress, audit and drive LMOS sustainment.

 

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 15 years of work experience leading lean transformation projects across entire organization.
  • Must have instituted training and certification programs on Lean methodologies across organization and run it successfully to produce Lean practitioners in the organization.
  • Change and Project Management experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in effectively guiding and influencing people through leading Lean initiatives.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating performance improvement activities.
  • Experience with process improvement methods including but not limited to Lean, Six Sigma, or other quality improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to facilitate group processes and training.
  • Bachelor's degree in either Quality, Business or Engineering or equivalent work experience required
  • Licenses or Certifications required: Six Sigma Black Belt Certification from an accredited organization
