POSITION TITLE: District Operations Manager

REPORTS TO: Director, Service

Konecranes is seeking a goal driven leader to fill our District Operations Manager role. We are looking for someone who is highly driven to succeed and is not apprehensive to manage a large district or area. This role oversees all aspects of the service managers and supervisor functions as well as consistently and dynamically hitting all productivity and sales targets. The qualified candidate in this role will provide leadership and direct operations management activities at the district (or higher) level. This role is required in large districts or areas and you will be expected to provide support and supervision as needed. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Service Managers or Supervisors functions.
  • Responsible for controlling all field and service office administrative functions for the District.
  • Maintain productivity targets as established during the annual planning process. This includes labor hours for all field operatives; service technicians, inspectors, and site supervisors combined.
  • Responsible for insuring the completion of required paperwork. All forms must be completed accurately and completely and submitted on a regular basis in accordance with established standards.
  • Responsible for resolving all customer complaints on service work and quality to the satisfaction of the customer and in the best interest of Konecranes. Monitor and report all warranty and credit requests of problems. Work with other Business Areas to resolve customer related issues. In the event a resolution cannot be met the matter is to be taken up with the District Manager.
  • Oversee the renewal process for contracts and pay close attention to the proper functioning of the inspection department.
  • Review and approve weekly payroll ensuring hours are reported accurately.
  • Monitor and maintain the company equipment and assets in proper conditions and good working order and in compliance with all applicable safety standards.
  • Regularly conduct spot inspections and audits of the service technician's equipment and vehicles for proper function, safety equipment, line stock and general conditions. Regularly conduct field spot audits and document the findings for compliance with all Konecranes safety policies and all applicable state and federal industrial safe work standards.
  • Provide any supervision and managerial support the technicians need. Provide any minor disciplinary actions necessary and document problems. Major problems and hire/fire actions must be reviewed with HR and the District Manager.
  • Ensure invoicing is done periodically to meet established company standards. Monitor branch level Open Orders report verifying the report reflects the current status of any active service work.
  • Oversee the proper functioning of the service departments and conformance to procedures, policies, and scheduling procedures.
  • Supervise and oversee the purchase of supplies to jobs and monitor the discretionary spending in each branch. Process the proper purchase orders thru established procedures.
  • Review and supervise the quotation process for all service work in accordance with the Area Price Policy guidelines.
  • Responsible for overseeing and monitoring the CMII levels on service work.
  • Participation in the monthly district level Rush meetings assisting in the preparation of the District Rush Report.
  • Provide any necessary support and field supervision for major projects and modernization activities.
  • Oversee and lead the recruitment process for branch field operatives working with HR and branch level management. Ensure the New Hire Orientation process is followed.
  • Other duties as assigned

    EXPERIENCE:Minimum of five (5) years experience as a manager in service related sales or operations, however, equivalent experience, education, and training will be considered. Must have demonstrated leadership experience, well-developed "people" skills, a basic understanding of mechanical and electrical principles, good written and verbal communication skills and good PC skills.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Must have and maintain a good driving record. Must be willing to travel as required including overnight and international.

    EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
