Program/Unit Description

The College of Liberal Arts (CLA) is the largest college of the University, with over 16,000 students and more than 40 departments. We are also larger than all other universities and colleges in the state of Minnesota.

Liberal Arts Technologies and Innovation Services (LATIS) provides liberal arts-specific expertise, facilities, and technology services to support the innovative work of the CLA community. We further the college’s mission by partnering with faculty, staff, and students to enhance learning, advance research and creative work, and improve processes.

LATIS strives to offer a diverse, creative and balanced environment which provides the freedom to collaborate across disciplines and with partners both inside and outside the University. We seek people who will push us to grow and improve. We value openness, community engagement, and rigorous debate. We are strongly multidisciplinary, and draw upon our staff of research experts, software developers, instructional designers, business analysts and media experts to drive positive change within our College and the University.

Our Enhancing Learning (EL) unit supports the thoughtful integration of technology into teaching and learning for the college. EL services are as follows: online, blended, and technology-enhanced design for courses and curricula; digital arts, sciences and humanities (DASH); academic innovation grants for faculty; emerging educational technologies; digital literacies; video production; digital content curation; learning analytics; and consultations on technology and pedagogy.

LATIS seeks a diverse candidate pool. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply, including people of color, people with disabilities, people who identify as LGBTQIA+, and people from other underrepresented populations.
