Overview

Discovery is looking for a Director of Cycling to lead its cycling vertical working as part of the integrated Global Cycling Networks and Discovery Eurosport live offering. The candidate will have experience in delivering a more premium and differentiated all-screen experience for cycling fans.



Responsibilities

1. Set Sport content strategy working in alignment with Discovery and GCN
2. Responsible for all pre-production planning
3. Undertake forward planning in conjunction with pan and local programmers
4. Manage the entire content ecosystem – linear, digital, pan, local
5. Deliver on commercial development, integration & execution
6. Shoulder programs – live & non-live
7. Bridge the fan experience between major events
8. Nurture content relationships with federations
9. Budgets (pan & local)
10. Conduct debriefs and follow ups



Qualifications

* Extensive experience in live production in cycling
* Previous experience in a similar role and level within a global media environment
* Proven track record in working on major cycling events
* A forward thinking, strong team leader who is dedicated to network and team growth, with the ability to lead a geographically dispersed team
* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Have a flexible, can-do attitude
* Ability to juggle multiple priorities and stay calm under pressure
* Willing to travel as required

* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
