The Director of Sales is responsible for managing the sales efforts of the Industrial Crane sales consultants within their geographic area of responsibility.
  • The responsibility will be to lead, direct and guide the assigned sales team efforts to assure effective growth and management on a profitable basis, consistent with established strategic objectives and goals. You will be responsible for directing and managing the sales efforts of the existing CTO Sales Representatives. The primary focus is to foster a high level of performance in industrial cranes sales activities of each individual and ensure adequate sales efforts are being conducted to develop new customers, while retaining existing customers.
  • A Monday morning weekly review call with your sales consultants is required every week. This session is intended to mentor and coach the team members, via the QlikView reporting tool, by analyzing the sales funnel and the weekly planned activities. You will review activities, orders, hot offers, offers, lost offers and other opportunities.
  • Developing and mentoring the existing sales resources in sales follow-up, sales calls, closing techniques and general sales presentation skills. Ensure that all sales consultants are accurate with the details, dates and activities of all of CRM sales cases. It is imperative that the funnel is maintained and updated.
  • Be accountable for the selection, promotion, performance and optimum utilization of sales personnel, as well as the development and training of sales personnel
  • You will be responsible for the monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts. A mid-month report is required on the 15th of each month, which provides an update to the monthly orders forecast. The monthly manager's rush report is required on the last day of each month.
  • Participation in monthly management meetings to review status of the business. Specific areas of concern may be addressed for evaluation and some preparation and study may be required.
  • You will be responsible for developing an Annual Plan for your area during the fall of each year and present to the management team, during our Annual Planning meeting.


EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree preferred however, prior equivalent experience and training will be considered in lieu of formal degree.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Must have demonstrated leadership experience, a basic understanding of mechanical and electrical principles, good written and verbal communication skills and good PC skills. Prior experience with cranes is a plus.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must have and maintain a good driving record, includeing a valid driver's license. Prior experience in the crane industry a plus. Previos industrial related sales preferred.
