About DCE (Digital Customer Experience):


The Digital Customer Experience Organization within JP Morgan Chase is an interdisciplinary group made up of UI/UX designers, business developers, graphics designers, user experience research, user strategy, project managers, copywriters and other creative professionals. Each brings a unique set of skills and expertise which make for an incredible work environment and great products. We are responsible for delivering unique and innovative designs and experiences across organizations, applications, products and offerings and we are looking to hire an experienced and talented UX lead to be a part of our Business and Commercial Banking group. This includes everything from the coffee shop next door to large commercial companies and presents a very unique and interesting set of challenges for the right person.  

The Position:


We are looking for a creative and resourceful User Experience Research lead with strong design research skills to join our rapidly growing team of innovators, disruptors and problem solvers. Naturally, we want someone who can think outside the box and provide fresh thought leadership, but we are also looking for an individual who will complement and lead the team in ways we haven’t even imagined. As a User Experience Research lead you will be responsible for leading, scoping and crafting research strategy, conducting research, and delivering actionable insights for a variety of user experience research studies in both bank and artificial settings.


What We’d Like To See


  • 8+ years of experience in user experience research required.
  • 4+ years of running and managing your own design team.
  • Proven leadership skills. We need people who are confident with everything from team building to mentoring to guiding large groups of creative talent.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a discipline champion for research contributing to discipline excellence.
  • Proactively identifies and shares new processes and techniques.
  • Ability to provide feedback to improve creative processes and to keep work on budget and schedule.
  • Ability to discern individual team members’ skills and to match the right people with the proper work.
  • Ability to develop experiences that can work across channels and platforms and various levels of complexity.
  • Provide accurate estimation of tasks to multiple squads or the tribe and help with prioritization.
  • Work with external vendor companies who are providing research support.
  • Excellent presentation skills and communication abilities, both internal and client-facing.
  • Strong ability to prioritize work and resources across engagements based on short- and long-term need. Timelines, budgets, and availabilities change—we need someone who can roll with it.
  • Generate innovative ideas across all existing and emerging digital platforms and inspire colleagues to create world-class, pioneering experiences.
  • Generate a strong and credible experience rationale to support digital ideas to an audience of customers, executives and anyone in-between.
  • Promote continual improvement and actively contribute to a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability.
  • Guide, mentor, and lead members of the creative team to maintain consistency and engagement through award-winning work.
  • Lead concept, creative development, and presentation of new business development efforts.
  • Ensure relevance and a consistent brand voice across the owned channels.
  • Implement a framework for online marketing that includes paid search and search engine optimization.
  • Lead integration with the Business Unit for acquisition, segmentation and client needs.
  • Understand and measure key digital engagement metrics and channel/experience performance via Key Experience Indicators. 
  • A strong understanding and experience in Financial Services.
  • Deep experience working at a giant company with many moving parts and a wide array of opinions and needs.
  • Strong ability to influence and willingness to partner with multiple stakeholders.
