About DCE (Digital Customer Experience):

 
The Digital Customer Experience Organization within JP Morgan Chase is an interdisciplinary group made up of UI/UX designers, business developers, graphics designers, user experience research, user strategy, project managers, copywriters and other creative professionals. Each brings a unique set of skills and expertise which make for an incredible work environment and great products. We are responsible for delivering unique and innovative designs and experiences across organizations, applications, products and offerings and we are looking to hire an experienced and talented UX lead to be a part of our Business and Commercial Banking group. This includes everything from the coffee shop next door to large commercial companies and presents a very unique and interesting set of challenges for the right person.

The Position:

 

User Experience Design Leads manage both the experience direction of our largest projects and the career paths of other designers, making sure no talent goes to waste and the work is always the best we can produce. These are crazy-talented people who pitch original design concepts and drive the expansion of our channel and platform experiences as a part of one of the largest Financial Institutions in the world. UX Design Leads oversee multiple projects from ask through execution, and sit as a strategic partner directly with the LOB leadership and other digital stakeholders. Team leadership and motivation skills are absolutely essential for the role, in addition to impeccable presentation and engagement skills. Our UX Design Leads have a big job, and we need people who aren’t afraid to see such massive undertakings in front of them and still say, “We can do more here.” This is the leadership position of leaders, and we need someone who can represent our culture and standards to all levels and disciplines within the department, company-wide, and across the industry.

What We’d Like To See

  • 8+ years of experience in user experience design required.
  • 4+ years of running and managing your own design team.
  • Current and up-to-date knowledge of industry-related software (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, InVision and other related tools)
  • Advanced knowledge of interaction design, user-centered experience design, and insights-driven design processes.

  • Proven leadership skills. We need people who are confident with everything from team building to mentoring to guiding large groups of creative talent.

  • Ability to provide feedback to improve creative processes and to keep work on budget and schedule.

  • Ability to discern individual team members’ skills and to match the right people with the proper work.

  • Ability to develop experiences that can work across channels and platforms and various levels of complexity.

  • Excellent presentation skills and communication abilities, both internal and client-facing.

  • Strong ability to prioritize work and resources across engagements based on short- and long-term need. Timelines, budgets, and availabilities change—we need someone who can roll with it.

  • Generate innovative ideas across all existing and emerging digital platforms and inspire colleagues to create world-class, pioneering experiences.

  • Generate a strong and credible experience rationale to support digital ideas to an audience of customers, executives and anyone in-between.

  • Promote continual creative improvement and actively contribute to a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability.

  • Guide, mentor, and lead members of the creative team to maintain consistency and engagement through award-winning work.

  • Lead concept, creative development, and presentation of new business development efforts.

  • Ensure relevance and a consistent brand voice across the owned channels.

  • Implement a framework for online marketing that includes paid search and search engine optimization.

  • Lead integration with the Business Unit for acquisition, segmentation and client needs.

  • Understand and measure key digital engagement metrics and channel/experience performance via Key Experience Indicators.

  • A strong understanding and experience in Financial Services and Commercial Bank.
  • Deep experience working at a giant company with many moving parts and a wide array of opinions and needs.
  • Strong ability to influence and willingness to partner with multiple stakeholders.
