Contribute appropriate design and design innovation to medium and large complex project initiatives.  Proactively identify squad-level issues that affect design quality to senior design management.  Work collaboratively as a member of multidisciplinary design and project team, helping to succeed as a team.  Contribute to high performing teams through the development of self and others, emphasizing continuous learning and growth.


A customer centric view is paramount while providing simple, fun and innovatively enriching mobile experiences for our customers. You will be working in a fast paced environment alongside our product and engineering teams to deliver all graphical assets and specs, including images, renderings, fonts, colors, icons, logos, etc. as well as focus on the design of mobile UI animations and transitions that improve usability and delight consumers. You will also be expected to understand the differences and nuances inherent in the major mobile OSes – iOS, Android, BlackBerry, etc. Finally, you will be expected to act as a resource for our marketing and executive teams to help develop potential go to market artwork, training materials, visuals, presentations, prototypes, die lines, etc. Providing our multi-disciplinary team with world class visuals that communicate the heart and soul of our products will help J.P. Morgan Chase continue in its role as the leader in the mobile financial services space.


Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with other disciplines and design strategy to understand design context
  • Deliver designs and participate in critique process to improve design acceptance
  • Develop critical thinking through iteration and design review
  • Understanding and application of design systems (IA,  pattern library, visual design libraries, motion library)
  • Execute processes and produce artifacts in support of the squad
  • Proactively seek out ways of incorporating the customer experience into daily work
  • Under advisement from Lead and more senior staff, recommend and at times make decisions affecting a squad
  • Responsible for a small feature area and/or collection of features or components. 
  • Track record of high-quality design execution in a single discipline
  • Must be capable of independent decision-making as well as able to take direction
  • Under advisement from Lead and more senior staff, recommend and at times make decisions affecting one or more projects

Skills:

  • Project management oversight of online and mobile projects; includes project intake, assessment, sizing, resourcing and tracking 
  • Collaborate closely with the Digital Design, Product, LoB, IT and Demand Management teams to understand  business demands; guide project execution
  • Partner with Digital and Partner teams to help drive concept readiness and artifact quality
  • Consult with creative teams to develop a clear plan and next steps for design activities
  • Serve as a single point of contact for project status & issue management
  • Ensuring all deliverables (oftentimes complex/interdisciplinary/interlinked) are clearly specified, scoped and agreed between client and internal team(s)
  • Manage small, medium and large projects for successful delivery
  • Ensure the PM team understands the project requirements and rationale
  • Consistently adhere to company standards and best practices 
  • Participate in / champion ongoing PM and design team process improvements

Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of experience delivering discipline results
  • Demonstrated ability to create work product that shows design intent
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in critique and incorporate feedback
  • Proficient at tools and process and recommends new tools and/or process improvements
