The Consumer and Community Banking Production Support team is hiring a DevOps Engineer.  This Application Support team handles all support requests, incidents, issues, tickets and business continuity activities, to ensure flawless and quality delivery of services to end users.
 
This is a pivotal role to help transform to an Automation / DevOps model, the areas of work will include automation, monitoring (alerting/logging), deployment and continuous integration working closely with our AD/Infrastructure partners.
 
The ideal candidate should be detail oriented, have strong verbal and written communication skills, able to multi task and can work independently and is a team performer.  You should also have a proactive approach to identify problems before they happen and implement solutions that detect and prevent outage. 
 
Responsibilities and Team Details:
  • Contributes to product area, or software in order to automate manual operational work
  • Troubleshoots priority incidents, facilitates blameless post-mortems and supports solutions for closure
  • Engages with development teams throughout the software life cycle ensuring sustainable software releases.
  • Applies analytics on past data, like incidents and usage patterns for predicting issues and takes proactive actions.
  • Drives adoption of self-healing and resiliency patterns.
  • Lead and participate in performance tests, identifies the bottlenecks, opportunities for optimization and capacity demands
  • Defines and drives adoption of a best in class monitoring frameworks to accomplish end to end application or service monitoring and noiseless alerting end application or service monitoring and noiseless alerting with proper telemetry
  • Deploys sustainable software, system and product upgrades
  • Adds value to team delivery and works with team to complete tasks to high quality and actively learns new skills
  • Self manages the effort split between operational work and engineering work
  • Design and implement software in these internally consumed products:
    • “Intelligent Software Bots” that detect anomalies in product features & behavior through machine learning & modeling of real-world customer behavior as training data
    • “Intelligent sensors” that monitor how our product eco-system and infrastructure is behaving in every aspect (no dark corners)
    • “Real-time machine learning anomaly detection models” that process massive amounts of sensor big data to detect minute degradation of Non-Functional Requirements
    • “Developer Sandbox Tools” that facilitate rapid deployment of new features by providing access to extremely user-friendly developer efficiency tools, personas, product configuration scripts, and bot infrastructure to facilitate gaining confidence to deploy code extremely quickly
  • This role requires a minimum of three years of Software Engineering experience with the skills to be commonly considered for a DevOps developer with a focus on infrastructure as code and monitoring dashboards. 
  • Must be strong in scripting (Python, Shell, Bash, Perl, HTML and/or related)
  • Capable of developing modern Angular, Java/J2EE Dashboards & UIs, REST Microservices to manage, orchestrate, and maintain our cloud based infrastructure and third-party integrations. 
  • Our tech stack changes with our needs, but currently we are using: ELK (ElasticSearch, LogStash, Kafka), Cassandra, Kubernetes/Docker, ZooKeeper/consul, VMWare ESX, chef, puppet, terraform, jenkins, Jersey, Swagger splunk and vault.
  • Will consider candidates with minimal or devops experience – provided they have strong infrastructure as code and software fundamentals.
  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science (or related) is highly desirable.
