Responsible for creating, managing, researching, analyzing, and maintaining constituent data to serve as a foundation for fundraising and alumni relations initiatives across Dartmouth College and the professional schools. Provides critical operations support to the Advancement Data & Reporting Services and Gift Recording offices using a proactive/collaborate approach, technical expertise, automated tools and web-based applications and provides outstanding customer service to the Dartmouth community. The Data Analyst analyzes and processes transactional requests within the department via a variety of methods and manages special projects.

Key Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities
  • Creates, builds, and manages data to support fundraising and alumni relations initiatives. Researches, compiles, extracts and analyzes information from a number of source systems and documents to manage and maintain data. Develops expertise in using specific web-based applications and other technology tools to manage and maintain individual, corporation, foundation, and other organization data. This includes researching and recording transactions, extracting and reviewing data, ensuring accuracy and completeness of Advancement data. Works on special projects and other tasks related to constituent data management. -50%
  • Develops expertise on how data and systems are being utilized by business partners for reporting and decision making. Maintains a high level of understanding of data practices, data quality and measuring and testing of data quality. Improves data integrity and quality by conducting routine and adhoc quality control analysis. Participates in cleanup and other special projects. Ensures the security and sensitive handling of confidential information and maintains information based on policies and procedures. -20%
  • Assists in identification and use of new products, methodologies, online databases, and software that will further enhance the department's ability to advance its mission using the most up-to-date advanced methods. Participates in testing upgrades or changes to data systems, makes recommendations for process improvements, workflow, and automation. Identifies continuous improvement opportunities within systems and processes to increase efficiencies and/or add value. - 10%
  • Extracts and communicates key information to customers and educates development staff and others involved in fundraising activities about current policies and procedures; Trains and mentors other team members to ensure skills and knowledge are consistent across the department. Attends professional development offerings to maintain and increase proficiency in various systems or process changes. - 10%
  • Provides administrative and operational support to Advancement Data & Reporting Services and Gift Recording. Delivers best in class service to a diverse community according to standards and procedures established by management. - 10%
